And where is the bottle? I'm consuming it faster than you can say "where is the bottle?" All the babel drabble drove me to drink. Crap, drabble is all about brevity, 100 words or less, and I know I've read more than a hundred babel words today. Let me change it to babel babble. Burrito, dahlink! The bar is already set up..now I have to run out and find Nonchallance some candy..BRB... Keep babeling whilst I see what I can find besides more Adam gifs..as if that ain't candy..yodadoo...

why must I know the story of the Tower of Babel? When you said this I did a Google search because I thought I must be missing something and honestly I'm more than a little offended that you assume that everyone should automatically know a story from the bible. I've never read the bible, so why should I be expected to know this story? Tell me, am I also expected to know the stories in the Quran or Tanakh? The Tower of Babel story is referenced quite often totally outside of it's Biblical origins. There are many things in the bible that people are exposed to through other literature. There are quite a few English Lit academics who argue that the Bible is an important literary work and because of its influence on many other great works of literature deserves to be studied as a literary work outside of its function as a religious text. The same is true of many other religious works. What I'm curious about is the fact that you dismissed the "Tower of Babel" phrase the first time around without bothering to take a minute to google it then. You had no problem making a judgement about the quality of the lyric without first checking to see if you might be missing something. I quess you also missed the discussion of that lyric here when the album came out. While I agree that it is quite possible not to know the phrase I also think it is not unusual for most to assume you would know it even if you hadn't read the Bible. oh I see, so I should study the bible and other religious text as a literary exercise? Well I would do that if I were a literature major in college but alas I am not nor have I ever been. there are a many works of "great" literature that I have never read and have no intention of reading....I believe that's well within my right as an individual and to be made to feel as if I've done something wrong is a bit ridiculous. and excuse you, I didn't make a judgment on the lyric, I merely said it made no sense to me. If I have to google a lyric to a song to understand the reference that's not a good sign IMO as I generally don't google lyrical content of songs I listen to. You might do that but I don't. I like Broken English, even without understanding that lyric. I don't understand half of what the fuck he's talking about in Nirvana but I like the song anyway. I don't participate in every conversation that happens on this forum so it would seem I did miss the discussion on the lyrics but from what I've seen it's usually a lot of people throwing around their opinions about what things mean so how would that have assisted me in understanding the reference since I wasn't aware that we had literary or biblical scholars as members here?

frecklesexual, have I ever told you that I love your avi? Now your screen name gives me pause. I keep wanting to turn it around to sexual freckle, but that implies there's only one and we all know there are zillions.
