Checking in early - taking advise to weigh before first cup of coffee. I lost .8 lbs since last week, so that makes a total of 4.4 lbs.
Got to get off this computer, tons to do this week, and my grandkids are coming for spring break - 14 yr old girl, 11 yr old boy, and 6 yr old twin girls. Should be challenging to find some common things that they will all be interested in doing here at the ranch. Hopefully, I will get some excercise from chasing the young ones around, I still haven't started a "formal" excercise program yet. Hubby is gone this week, I am eating Lean Quisine and Healthy Choice. I am really into that grilled asparagus! Also, Lent starts tomorrow, and I am giving up bread, so maybe that will help a little to eat more fruits and veggies.

Guess I missed 2 check ins. No change on the weight, still have 5 lbs to go. After the initial 5 lbs, it seems the next 5 is so hard to reach. Still working on it.

weighing in with a 1-lb. loss! I guess a pound a week is good...slow and steady...if it continues I will be down 15 by DVD time.
jellus of you all with the digital scales. mine is analog and sits on thick carpet so it often seems imprecise. wonder how a digital one would perform on carpet.

Hi everyone. Got back from my 2 week Caribbean cruise on Sunday. I did very well the first week of the cruise (if I can go by the ship's digital scale) and stayed about the same by eating no bread, potatoes, pasta, ice cream & having only 2 cocktails the entire week. Week 2 I let things go a little more and had more sugar items and cocktails (I was getting them 50% off and had to take advantage). I did go to the gym every day and swam in the ocean whenever I was near one. Even though I was up 4 pounds yesterday - the good news is it's the least I've ever gained in 2 weeks being surrounded by food 24/7. I didn't go crazy and order 2 desserts at dinner and didn't overeat the way I would have before. I went back on the WW plan yesterday and today my scale showed a 3 pound loss so net gain over 2 weeks is 1 pound.
I'm going to stay back on track because I still want to be down a lot more by summer. I'll do my official weigh in on Thursday the way I've been doing and should be back to where I was before I left.

Wow, congrats Melisende!! Did you know the average cruiser gains a pound a day? (yup, been there, done that)
I got my scale situation worked out. I now have an analog scale and my finicky digital scale that works when it wants to.
This week I have no idea if I lost anything, but am down 13 lbs overall. Friday, I wore my skinny jeans out to dinner. I told DH they seemed rather loose. When we got home, I pulled them off without unfastening them! (Ok, so they are probably stretched out from when I was heavier and will regain their shape when I wash them, but still was way cool)

Melisende, I'm impressed with your dedication and restraint! It sounds like you had a great time. Durberville, you are not alone. At least you are maintaining--I have regressed and I blame Nutella (looking at you Jablea--just kidding). I have always wanted to try Nutella and I think it would be a fine choice as a treat in moderation (a tough concept for me). A tsp or TBS with a banana or a spoonful on it's own would be heavenly and well within the limits of my diet. However, I found that a freshly baked croissant smothered in Nutella is my new obsession : . I'm back on track today though (sugar snap peas with hummus, and yogurt with wheat germ and bananas). The sun is shining, the house is clean, and I'm feeling good so I think I'm going to get some exercise in the fresh air. I think I suffer from a mild case of Seasonal Affective Disorder and this has truly been a long winter. Today I fell like spring is right around the corner!

Well. it's been a struggle, but I am down 1.5 lbs for a total of 2.5 lbs. Regained some weight switching from low carb to Weight Watchers, but think I am stabilized now. Pigging out on fruit, so need to back off a bit. On track for starting to exercise. I'm a very slow starter, so takes a while to psych myself up. :-/

Wednesday
Topic: Hump Day Hummus
I'm trading Alison Nutella for Hummus. Ok not a real trade because Imma keeping my Nutella - wonder what it tastes like on my banana bread, hmmm.
Ok, back to hummus. Never had it. Is it beans, chick peas, or mashed soy? Convince me that I need to add it to my cupboard/fridge.

Hummus. Good stuff. Easy to make. I prefer home made to the store bought stuff. Recipe in recipe thread.
