Well, down another half pound, so I can't complain, but I just can't seem to get any lower. Do need to get out and do some exercise though. Never give up, never give up!!!

Congrats to flowergirl and stardust on your weight loss!
I guess the thread is inactive now as we've all had our DVD viewing parties. I managed to lose a total of 32 pounds for the party and then had a few off days eating all the food I'd made. I'm back on WW and this morning was down again for a total of 33 pounds. This whole week will be bad as it's one dinner party after another and lots of eating out due to concert run-outs but I'm determined to stick it out for the long haul.
It's hard and it's easy to forget how terrible it feels to be obese when months have passed and one just feels like eating whatever. It takes a lot of self-talk and discipline - but I know that from the first time around. Is anyone planning to continue with the weight loss program?

Check in Day
Sorry I'm late. I did weigh this morning and yeah! and extra day, an extra pound. Down 3.
To answer your question Melisende, I don't have any choice but to keep working on weight loss so I'll be here every week eventually. This whole process has made my mind think quite a bit more often about what I'm eating and I've been introduced to new foods. Bought some more Kale today in fact. I'm riding my bike and walking the dogs. The scale may not be headed down fast but by golly it is headed down so I'm happy.

Forgot to weigh in yesterday but I'm down another lb! I'm going to keep at it because it's so easy to slip and go backwards! Melisende, don't know how you did it after making all that yummy-sounding party food!

Checking-inFor most of the week I've been down 4 so that's what I'm using. I've been a little worried about how fast my DH has been losing weight this last year. He says he's changed what he eats, my belly says nope. So I went looking into his prescriptions and I think it's his diabetes drug Metformin. There seem to be quite a few people who've lost weight with it although it doesn't work for everyone. Anyone here on it?

Hi Jablea. Nice to "see" you. Hubby takes Metformin and has lost 30 lbs. in the past 6 months. It's a combination of that, a bad sinus infection which left him nauseous (antibiotics cleared that up), and the fact that he shrunk his appetite after his bout with the infection. I did not know about Metformin having that side effect, but perhaps that has contributed. Anyway, it's great because he really needed to lose the weight. I don't know what type of diet you eat, but when hubby cut way down on carbs, his sugar level went down a lot. He still takes the meds, but the low carbs definitely had a positive effect.

Tues Check-in
I'm going with my low weight for the week which was -5. Yeah! This next week will be interesting as I'm going in for a nose op (fix deviated septum) and I'm told I'll be pretty miserable for 3 days at least. I think I'll be on gruel. It will make it easier if I think I'm doing it for weight loss too. ha
sugaree, I finally got my hubby to read/skim the diabetes book I bought - Dr. Bernstein's Low-Carbohydrate Solution- after having it a year and it seemed to resonate with him. Well enough so that he talks "carbs" anyway. I think we have cut down some. Glad to see your DH doing to well.

Tues Check-in Well down -5 with clothes on and it night. That usually means an extra pound gone in the morning, yeah.
So, if you don't eat and combine that with not moving well the pounds don't just fly off and I have set a pretty high standard the last several days for couch potato-ism. Adding fruit juice to the mix which of course is high in calories is a necesary evil, hehe.
Yeah, flowergirl, Adam said he fixed a deviated septum too. Several ways of doing it. Because mine was pretty severe and twisted they could have reshaped it if they wanted too. In fact found out afterward that they decided to break one of my cheek bones (on purpose) because the two sides weren't matching back up. My whole face swelled up into one of those shiny faced "plastic surgery gone bad" photos but started going down after the 2nd night. I'm on day four and I can recognize myself again. whew. They took the straws out of my nose this morning and the outside cast will come off on Thursday. Then I'll just have to deal with the nose hair stiches for another week.
I'm giving a shout out to my coconut oil (one of our earlier topics) it works when chap stick and petroleum gelly give out for my lips and when the cast and my eyes swelled into each other it was something I could use to masage crusties away from my eyelashes. Plus it's good on the whole bowell movement thing that general anesthesia and pain meds tends to put a damper on.
My appetite came back today along with the ability to open my mouth so time to watch the intake again. I'm already back on the computer full time so since I work from home that means work lol. But then I have an even better excuse than normal not to do housework. yeah!
So we have 3-4 months now for album release and even less for a single release. We may have to rename the thread again.

Tuesday Checkin
Well this thread isn't hopping these days but that's ok. Imma still going to check in every week because while I'm not just shedding pounds off I am indeed losing and for me that is big since I've never done it consciously over a period of time. So checking in gives me incentive.
And...... still down -6. Yeah! I know it's not much in the general scheme of things but it's over 25% of my first goal so it's significant to me. I'm able to do some gentle exercises now after my nose surgery so I have to put heavy duty sun guard on my nose and do some dog walking and I did some floor exercises last night.
