So, no comments about how he was robbed for the award. Guess the press doesn't really care about the performance, just the fashion. He is definitely winning notice in THAT department. Cassie, I don't think we are going to see he was robbed articles. All were in favor of Bruno, and felt he would win, with MJ as a possibility. It seems sales are the driving factor. But Bruno has had success with writing and contributing. I am not sour, but the whole operation of the music industry has been such an eye opening experience for me, since I became an Adam stan. I have learned so much from each of the posters, including yourself and Q3. I think it is interesting that BM the golden boy ONLY received the 1 grammy of the 7 he was nominated for AND for anyone who actually listens to the vocals (admittedly a minority) it is a WTF award. I also am amused that he didn't bother to show up for the pre-televised awards and then didn't win any of the ones he probably thought he would get later I had a busy weekend and was only able to peek in a few times (We sang in two concerts and had our usual weekend stuff to handle) I don't think there is any way I'll be able to go back and read the earlier threads - guess I'll just start from today and try and just keep up as we go.... ETA: Don't know if this was discussed or anything, but Saturday morning (early - a little before 8am) I got into my mother's car and she had NPR on the radio. They were talking with the producer of the Grammy show. I only heard the tail end (maybe 5-10 minutes?) and given what a fuddy-duddy this guy was, I'm no longer surprised Adam wasn't on the show. He sounded like an older gentleman (maybe my dad's age - 70?) who feels like everything since the 60's is crap He refered to the "younger" artists like Bruno, Rianna, etc as "kids" and sounded like they were just putting some of these folks on to keep the "young viewers" happy. He enthused for AGES about Babs being on the show!

I am recovering from my disappointment, and I know in the long run Adam will prevail. But, honestly, should someone who strains on the high notes win Best Vocal over someone who doesn't? Someone whose voice always pours out effortlessly, sweet and pure and golden, like honey from a jar? The Grammys are supposed to be about quality, not big sales. #AdamShouldaWon. But it's water under the bridge now. I am thrilled that Adam was nominated and thrilled that he had this wonderful experience. I'm sure that last year, when he attended the Grammys as a fashion correspondent for ET, he hardly dared to dream that the following year he would be attending as a nominated artist. And he wasn't nominated because he died, or because he had a song that sold too many copies to ignore, or because he's a habit that the Grammy voters can't seem to break. He was nominated because he delivered a stunning vocal performance. And I believe that the best is yet to come! HERE HERE!!!!!THIS ITA

socialitelife.com/adam-lambert-2011-grammy-awards-02-2011Adam Lambert showed up looking slim and sleek in a black suit with an open shirt and jewelry at the 53rd Grammy Awards ... Adam recently went out on the town with his hot boyfriend Sauli Koskinen and spilled the beans on his relationship to Ellen. He also participated in the It Gets Better campaign. He seems too perfect to be true! I am not sour, but the whole operation of the music industry has been such an eye opening experience for me, since I became an Adam stan. I have learned so much from each of the posters, including yourself and Q3. See, that's the part that I don't understand. If it's "best pop vocal performance," why should sales enter into it? Confuzzled here. I, too, have learned a LOT from everyone and I learned a lot from the Social Media Summit as well. This knowledge has really given me a whole new perspective on the business and what artists have facing them as well as options to get their music out there. Lady Gaga was on 60 Minutes last night and it was a good interview. I'm guessing it's either on Youtube by now or on the CBS website. It would be worth listening to.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, what a great week leading up to the Grammys. The outcome was melancholy for me and took a little bit to bounce back - but I agree with what someone said last night about when Adam wins his Grammy I want it to be on national TV for all the world to see! And his day will come.
Watched the show on the west coast so pretty much knew what people here on the board watching live already thought. The two acts that brought a shit eating grin to my face was Mick (he really did engage the audience and was just so cute prancing around working the stage) and Ce-Lo with the muppets (nerdy in a fun way). And Muse was a standout - glad they won for best Rock and loved the performance and the visual screens!
The rest of the show was, well, pretty much.... Ok but...
The trouble is I always find myself comparing others singing to Adam and now I cannot change that. Someone who I thought my have been great BA (before Adam) is just mediocre or OK. Even Jennifer Hudson was good but Adam can hit those diva notes just as well or better without strain so that doesn't do it for me anymore. I thought x-tina was good last night.
And Adam's fashion, I will say it again. MORE than drool worthy, hot damn and UNF - loved the look. After he gets over the hangover he is sure to have the next few days I hope he starts to get more serious about his next album and that this experience has added to the inspiration and motivation to do so. Now, I am really going to have to get some RL stuff done myself after all the stanning and epic of last week:-)

The TV Guide Red Carpet is showing again today at 11:00 am Central time! Shoot, my carrier doesn't carry TV Guide channel. It's always nice seeing Adam on TV even though we can see it on youtube.

Finally a chance to come in and say hi to everyone Thanks you Q3 for everything you do for us! I am glad that I didn't have to wander around too much (enough bread crumbs that even I could find you all!) Although, been having a hard time catching up with the tremendous number of posts... I am really ok about Adam not winning. When I finally caught up on the pages of the announcement, I told my DH "he didn't win". He was definitely more upset than I was. I had to calm him down and explain to him that it was great that he was nominated on his first album and this shows that people acknowledge him as a singer and artist, not a reality tv show star. I also said this is only the first nomination. His time will come. That calmed him down a bit I don't post much, mainly because I feel like I'm always playing catch up and topics have either moved on, been rehashed to death, or someone has said it so eloquently I have nothing new to contribute. However, I will try to pop in and say a few words every now and then.
