Brings up some questions for me. What is the deal with the plodding piano line? I thought that the first clip we heard of Adam practicing was filmed too close to the piano and that's why it was so dominate...however, here it is. And, it's in the Rihanna version. I would much rather it be mixed WAY down or dropped even. When the same sort of piano continues into Underneath I start to wonder. Is Adam making a bit of a statement here? Like, "Yeah, I have a bad ass emotional song too. Here it is. See how they are similar? Rihanna's song is everywhere and mine???? Yeah, not getting the same traction. Think Stay is better?" I love Adam's version of Stay and I have always adored Underneath. I don't like projecting thoughts/motives onto Adam; this time it feels very possible though. We-e-ell.... to be fair, the 2 songs do belong in the same part of the show. And Underneath was never released to the radio, so it's a lot harder to get any sort of play for it, much less to go everywhere. But I'll confess, one of the thoughts that popped into my head was "Darn, the melody of Underneath sure sounds more interesting than Stay. Lyrics too. Hmmm." Of course, being more familiar with Underneath than Stay might have something to do with it too. |

Did I miss something? The lyrics of Underneath have always been there. No one can emote like Adam can in a song. Of course he is not always happy. Is anyone? I would think someone who is living his dream probably has more good days than bad. He actually did talk about the nipple piercing. Said he took them out because they weren't all they were cracked up to be. And if you don't think he wasn't laughing his ass off at the penis discussion..... well, this man has a sexy, bawdy sense of humor. Hence the "ha, ha" in his twitter reply to the body piercing question. Remember, he chooses which tweets to reply to. Thanks for those thoughts mys*&@^#r50. I agree. Nothing seems to be irreverent to Adam. He loves to laugh about raunch, and he loves to laugh at himself. If he did read our comments and jokes on his penis, I feel like he laughed and loved us for not taking him so serious all the time. The love we pour on him all the time has to get overwhelming and crazy to him sometimes. I think he likes a little over the top humor from us too. |
