BTW, give it some hits on YT so the company knows they are getting their money's worth! Just watched again. I can't understand what he said in Chinese at the end of the video the first time I watched. This time I finally got it. Haha, as Maddie said, his Chinese is not good, but cute. I can't imagine this will Adam's only commercial endorsement of Rift. Perhaps the company is laying the groundwork for a big push and this first 'take' is only an hors d'oeurvres. Why they didn't do more takes..who knows? I can imagine Adam's frustration as he is usually much more natural. Must have popped him into a studio when he was in Japan perhaps? Little time..one take. But the company is paying him, so if that is what they wanted for now, who are we to complain? Huge bucks$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Myself, I am celebrating..Adam got his first endorsement!

I watched again and thought he was adorable the way he said "I love this game" ...oh sure Adam! I thought the script was really fitting for him.

I watched again and thought he was adorable the way he said "I love this game" ...oh sure Adam! I thought the script was really fitting for him. I agree. I watched several times and every time it sounded better...IDK why, but it did. Now that we know we see an unfinished version, I am quite sure that the end result is excellent. He looks beautiful, exotic, sincere and charming. I am h oping to get the final version soon - I am sure our Chinese glamberts are on the case... maddie, my interpretation of "given the audience" in the context has to do with the perception of gamers in general, and not related to specifically Chinese gamers, i.e. generally young people loving the excitement and the competition of a fast moving, rich in imagery fantasy, and less interested in the details of how the endorsement was acted out as far as Oscar worthiness is concerned.

The older I get, the more I notice the irony in my life. I spent years trying to curb my kid's gaming habits. Now he's into swing dance and the last concerts he attended were Leonard Cohen and Diana Krall. Me, I'm jumping up and down cause AFL got this endorsement.

Oh man, any way a tech-wizard can cut Terrance out of this photo so I can stare at silver AFL on my desktop all day? I don't have anything else to accomplish today besides income tax and god knows, that can wait.

With that backdrop, it does look a bit better, perhaps the youtube we saw is not the final take. What does surprise me a bit is that this is not the first time that Adam has done a commercial and why are people not giving him the time to absorb the text first. He is a brilliant interpreter. But doing so, assumes you know what you are saying and not reading it off the prompter for the first time, which is what this looks like. Anyone remember that Go Green commercial that he had to do as part of AI? It was kind of comical how non-convincing Adam sounded at the time and somehow here 4 years later he has to read an unfamiliar text off a teleprompter and uses a similar intonation. I think he needs to be given a bit more time to work things out, because I don't think this is what he wants either. Perhaps they record a few more commercials while he is in China. Who knows. I just googled the Go Green commercial, but nothing seems to come up anymore, or I could not find it. In the end I want for Adam to make enough money that he can secure his future, do his art live for his audiences using the wardrobe and any staging as he likes it, and be happy. That's my real wish for him. Long-lasting and continuously successful career, where he gets to make his own artistic choices. Of course, on a very petty and selfish note, I also want him to make enough off this game that when Forbes in May publishes their May 2012 - May 2013 numbers, he is up in the top together with Kelly and Carrie and miles ahead of the rest of the pack of WGWGs and then I'll just sit back, have a popcorn night and read the usual blogs that are entertaining in such moments. Between Queen tour, one off concerts, DIVAs, PLL, Asia Tour, Hennessy endorsement and now this one for RIFT, he should be having another really good year. Oh, yes, he also released an album too, but as it is, this part will be the smallest contribution to that bottom-line. What a sick kind of business the music business is these days. I am glad that Adam has much more income streams other than being a recording artist. And hope this Singapore concert goes off without problems. Crazy stuff. And Addicted, I so feel your pain? Are you saying, they took your ticket and you don't even know whether they will refund your money? :-/ Sounds like they are corrupt on top of incompetent. Hope you can get your refund for your ticket worked out.
