Were you wringing wet when you left? I need a shower after all Adam concerts and my clothes are still damp the next morning! ( no, I don't shower in the clothes!). All you Finnberts, be prepared to be "soaked" during and after the concert. Thanks for all the, um, thanks. (That just sounds weird... "Thanks for the thanks for the thanks" ) Is it a recap when I can only seem to remember flashes, and the rest is a blur of sound and bug-eyed fascination? For the record ljsmack, I was sweaty by the end, but not drenched (the airconditioning was actually too cold for me when I'd first stepped in), but I WAS rather deaf and very hoarse by the end. It's late, but hubby and I had entered a post-concert discussion about our preferences in music over durian left behind by the babysitting grandparents. Yum. Which led to some thoughts... hope it doesn't dampen the mood here or anything, but I'm going to bring up some less flail-y stuff, like (1) I'm not a concert-goer, so is it usual for the band to sound so very loud? I'd noticed that Adam had been gesturing fairly often about... something, maybe the sound mix?... and while his voice was always front and centre of the performance, I personally would have preferred for it to stand out even more from the wall of sound. (2) I'm sorry I can't remember who posted that the reggae OOL really works, and I whole-heartedly agree... now. It was something that I had never really got on board with, even after Adam had said it was a reflection of greater hope and optimism; but hearing it live - his voice, his gestures, sell it convincingly, and leading into Is this Love works really well. Despite this, I still really miss Stay-Underneath from the earlier part of the tour, where his voice (very nearly) alone takes control of the whole place. And that's not even counting how the band seemed a little too loud for me. One of the reasons I keep listening to Adam is because of how he can jump from stripped down heartfelt plaints to bad-ass dramatic stomping 'tude with ease. Without Stay and Underneath, I find myself missing some of that contrast. Does that make sense? Hey, I know what would work best! Longer concert, more songs! Everyone agrees, right? :D Seriously, after the 2nd encore, there was a VERY loud moan from the crowd when the stage lights went off and the theatre lights went on. Ok. 4am. Need to be up by 8am. Better go. Night all! Hope I can fall asleep..... Edit : Being bad, I had a peek at a few of the vids before going to bed. Re-living the concert..... (shakes herself out of the trance) Right. So it seems that the band isn't too loud, since the vids sound how I'm used to hearing them on the computer. So that level of noise is usual when you're AT the concert. Oh dear. I'm not going to be able to see him live often enough to get used to it. :D

So glad you can come! I understand you very well. I didn't feel strong enough to travel to QAL concerts to London, but afterwards I regretted not going there. To Hartwall Areena I have only a 15 minutes drive so no hesitations this time. And remember that as an EU citizen you are entitled to all (almost free) medical care here if needed (hope not needed).
