Hi, we are back in our hotel from the wonderful Pre-Party that the Finnberts organized! :
It was such a great evening and we met many of the friendly Finnberts and Glamberts from all over the world! And I finally got to know some of our dear Atoppers, Bobo, Albiku + boyfriend, SophieB, PostFestum and Daydreamer personally, everyone is so sweet and we talked a lot!
After eating and chatting at the Namu Restaurant for a long time, we all went over to the DTM club and continued our little party there! Now I'm already hoarse from all the talking, I hope, I can sing along tomorrow in the concert, haha!
All in all it was such a nice evening and I want to thank the Finnberts for the perfect organization and their hospitality!
And Teddy, so sorry that you can't come tomorrow ??? although we begged so much, haha! :D I loved your pic you posted, Betty! Sound like you are having the time of your life! Somehow I figure your voice will get it's second wind by concert time..SHOUT for me too, K? lol..so happy for you! Say hi to the other Atopers if you see them again. Didn't know Postfestumpf was going..well, YAY, for all of you!! Now THIS is going to be the way to end a tour..packed house and people from all over the world loving Adam and Finland! LMAO!! Teddy has his telescope, so guess he's good to go..sound might be a tad distorted, tho.

Did anyone see If Adam was featured on AI tonight? I didn't see the first 15 minutes, but I don't think so since they had both Casey Abrams & Jessica Sanchez on the show. Jessica sang her debut single which is a duet with Ne-Yo. It is a nice lively pop song, but not one I would buy as a single. They did very well, but I thought Ne-Yo actually sounded better. I thought Jessica was a little breathy on some parts where she was dancing while singing. Casey did a lively Beatles song, "I Saw Her Standing There", with his upright bass of course. I enjoyed Casey's take on a Beatles song more than most of the current contestants. I would so love to see Ashley play upright bass on a song with Adam! Someone said the other day that there are many very talented music school musicians who would love to play with Adam. Well, anyone read Ashely's bio? She IS one of those superstar music school graduates - both high school & university! Here's her bio from the Fender web site: www.fender.com/artists/profile/2442/Los Angeles based artist Ashley Dzerigian was 11 years old when she began playing the oboe in her elementary school band after being told none of the other kids would choose it. Not one to follow trends, she picked it up quickly and soon got the attention of her band director who recruited her to play bass guitar as a second instrument. Ashley immediately began taking private lessons, and by the age of 13, took on a third instrument- the upright bass. She played in every band that her schools had to offer; including marching band, jazz band, orchestra and gospel choir. Ashley attended the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, during which time she began taking gigs that her private instructors could not make, sneaking in the backdoors of bars and making a beeline to the stage at each venue. As music became more than just a hobby, she continued on to study both electric and upright basses at California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts), focusing on Latin Jazz and Afro-Cuban music, and working with mentors Alphonso Johnson (Wayne Shorter, Weather Report), Todd Johnson (6-string bass pioneer) and upright master Darek Oles. After graduating from Cal Arts in 2005, Ashley jumped right into the indie-rock scene, touring internationally and recording with bands Great Northern, Eulogies and My Jerusalem; as well as singer/song-writers Lindsey Ray, London based artist Ed Harcourt and Beastie Boys' keyboardist Money Mark, to name a few. In November of 2011, a mutual friend of Dzerigian and Fender artist Tommy Ratliff tipped her off to an audition for Adam Lambert. After landing the gig, she soon found herself making television appearances on Ellen, Jay Leno's the Tonight Show (where her strap fell off and she delivered a performance on bended knee), American Idol, Good Morning America, Live with Jimmy Kimmel and playing in arenas nationwide.

OK, so this is a brief change of topic BUT I live in Mexico, small town about 45 minutes from Guadalajara (7 million people). Just came home from the local WalMart (Yes, WalMart) and stopped dead in my tracks at the check out line as Is This Love came on the PA system. I may be the only Glambert here and can't wait until SD. And in December the biggest music store in Guadalajara did not carry Trespassing - could order it for US$25 and I could wait for 3 weeks. (I wanted additional Christmas presents). They did look him up on their computer and one guy had seen the QAL videos on YouTube. This is progress of a sort - did a modified happy dance in the aisle!! OK, sorry, back to Helsinki... Hey! Marel, congrats on hearing Adam in Walmart and I'm jealous of you being able to go to San Diego! I had a question for you -- I once went on vacation and spent 2 weeks in Ajijic -- is that close to where you are? It was a really interesting place, as was Guadalajara. Just curious -- now back to flailing! Yes, I've lived in Ajijic since 1996....and while a U.S. citizen I'm what is called inmigrado here in Mexico- kind of like having a green card in the U.S. And I flail regularly and the other volunteers at work just roll their eyes. They'll see the light eventually....maybe it's time for a Trespassing tshirt tomorrow!

BTW what did they do to jessica Sanchez...Her agency gave her a bit of the trashy every POP singer look.. She also sang a song like all the others out there.. I hated to see that.. She has so much talent and was an outstanding individual. Grrrrr.

I didn't know he had worked with Katy Perry and Gaga, as well as Rihanna before.. The link is to an interview Brian did with Korg.. very interesting. www.korg.com/brianlondonKORG: Tell us about your musical background?BL: My technique and background is all Classical training and the different eras, Baroque, Romantic, New Age and Classical, not in its respective order of time. I have been playing for 20 years, so since I was four, I began lessons under one of the greatest pianists I've ever had the opportunity to train under. After every lesson, I would ask him to play the piece for the next week. He found out that I would never read the music and play exactly what he played so I would never practice, until he found out that I was doing that a month later!

I do wish I had not posted this earlier. Honestly, I must have been reading it differently or I wouldn't have. I try to avoid posting anything negative or controversial, so I'll delete the original if I can find it, but it's been commented on multiple times at this point. Houselady...you are always very conscientious in what you post. I didn't 'get' these tweets for what they were first go around either. Tweeters can have a myriad of types of ~humor. Yes, these were nasty, but please don't beat yourself up about it. Sometimes it is good to see what types of hate Adam and Sauli face. It's not all rose-colored glasses and I don't twit. I write these people off. Must be sad to be filled with such venom. You post so much invaluable information, I hope you don't back off because of this.
