er..... A5? close but not the highest (B5b) certainly not whistle though :D Just double checked on my piano and it is an F#5, the same note as always at that point in Fever, sung live. It is such a damned good, ringing, full-voiced, resonant, strongly supported note with amazing harmonics that it sounds higher. Did I mention that his voice just gets better and betterer? Oh, I went back and checked again.. and it is indeed a F#5.. I need to get my ears checked.. but it was so strong and powerful. full force

Cassie, thanks. That note just has a quality/clarity, fullness and power I do not ever recall hearing before. I cannot image what it sounded like live!! Me too! It sounds so different to me!

OMG! I just came home from the after-party. I guess I'm alive.. not sure.... 56 pages! OMG! I don't even know if you had live stream... I'm not very sober and i shouldn't write anything. I just say that everything was so amazing. Amazing!. Niko said that Adam and Sauli would come to the after party after they have refreshed themselves at the hotel. But they never came. We had so much fun with each other anyway. We Atoppers had a booth of our own and we danced and laughed and...... Oh God how I miss all of them...

Cassie, thanks. That note just has a quality/clarity, fullness and power I do not ever recall hearing before. I cannot image what it sounded like live!! Quality, clarity, fullness, power, ring....... these have always been characteristics of Adam's classical training and technique, and what makes Adam's voice so unique in pop music. IMO, these characteristics have only gotten stronger as Adam has matured. You know, people have said that Adam can no longer sing classically as he did in CTMBTM, because he has ruined his voice singing pop and rock. BOVINE EXCREMENT! One expects to hear that purity of tone on his ballads, but, listen to his up-tempo, pop and rock renditions. For example, Chokehold. It has a driving beat and dark feeling from the beginning, but the voice is pure crystal and delicately floats in the beginning lines. You can also hear that purity at the beginning of Cuckoo. And FYE shows off a rich, full lower register and refined mid range before soaring up to the high Eb. A very legitimate music theater tone with a delivery perfectly adapted to pop/rock/funk. It shouldn't work, but it does. It's what makes folks who know nothing about voice production and music recognize that Adam's voice is extraordinary. They always mention his range, which is impressive, to say the least. But, there are other classic rockers out there with similar ranges. What we all hear from Adam is the quality of the tone in the notes he sings. It is so unusual and striking that we notice it in even the fan-made videos on cameras with limited frequency range for recording, and on YT which limits the frequencies in playback. Don't let anyone tell you that ring and resonance is from the sound system. Just ain't so. That tone is the product of techniques developed long before we had amplification for voices, when a singer had to be able to float their voice over a full orchestra to the back of the top balcony. In that setting, there was no way for a singer to just belt out a note using brute force and outsing a full orchestra. It could only be done by creating those rich, ringing harmonics in a pure tone. It has to do with the physics of sound waves, but I won't get all scientific on you. Suffice to say, Adam has a PhD in singing. Yummy!

Somebody has to tell Adam that without big screens the people in the back and up high can't see his face. He looks tiny when someone has to sit in the top/back seats. It is more fun to be able to at least see his face on a big screen when he is singing. I wonder if he has ever had to sit in back to watch a rock star sing without screens. He probably gets the best seats so he doesn't even realize how it looks. It sure makes for less fun at a concert. Imagine how cute the picture at the top of this page would look on a big screen. Without a screen, the cute in this picture wouldn't be seen. That wouldn't be in Adam's control, would it? I would think that whether or not a venue has big screens is up to the venue. I could be wrong.
