Quality, clarity, fullness, power, ring....... these have always been characteristics of Adam's classical training and technique, and what makes Adam's voice so unique in pop music. IMO, these characteristics have only gotten stronger as Adam has matured. You know, people have said that Adam can no longer sing classically as he did in CTMBTM, because he has ruined his voice singing pop and rock. BOVINE EXCREMENT! One expects to hear that purity of tone on his ballads, but, listen to his up-tempo, pop and rock renditions. For example, Chokehold. It has a driving beat and dark feeling from the beginning, but the voice is pure crystal and delicately floats in the beginning lines. You can also hear that purity at the beginning of Cuckoo. And FYE shows off a rich, full lower register and refined mid range before soaring up to the high Eb. A very legitimate music theater tone with a delivery perfectly adapted to pop/rock/funk. It shouldn't work, but it does. It's what makes folks who know nothing about voice production and music recognize that Adam's voice is extraordinary. They always mention his range, which is impressive, to say the least. But, there are other classic rockers out there with similar ranges. What we all hear from Adam is the quality of the tone in the notes he sings. It is so unusual and striking that we notice it in even the fan-made videos on cameras with limited frequency range for recording, and on YT which limits the frequencies in playback. Don't let anyone tell you that ring and resonance is from the sound system. Just ain't so. That tone is the product of techniques developed long before we had amplification for voices, when a singer had to be able to float their voice over a full orchestra to the back of the top balcony. In that setting, there was no way for a singer to just belt out a note using brute force and outsing a full orchestra. It could only be done by creating those rich, ringing harmonics in a pure tone. It has to do with the physics of sound waves, but I won't get all scientific on you. Suffice to say, Adam has a PhD in singing. Yummy! His voice was so strong through the whole performance, even with all the dancing he did. And in the first encore, AYGGMW, his control was still amazing. At about :58 listen to the run - going low - perfect. Cassie - is his range increasing? - at least the lower notes seem to be getting stronger. No, I don't think his range is increasing. Or, it may be, but we don't know, as he has not sung higher or lower than we have heard before. On the GNT, Aftermath went down to a C#3 each time he performed it. He doesn't go that low with WAG songs, that I recall. Just from memory, I think the lowest note is in FYE with an E3. But, the lower register throughout much of FYE is sounding stronger and richer than it has in the past, for sure. I have always struggled with the bottom of my register, especially if I am singing a lot higher for a while. Sometimes I just can't get that rich, full resonance on my bottom notes, while other times it's right there. Just based on my experience, I would guess that Adam's ability to consistently access that bottom resonance has improved with age, practice and perhaps coaching.

Glad to get back on. Love the Going my way video!! What great videos from this concert!!! PS: I LOVE my new avi!!!!! stardust, you SHOULD love your avi because it's STUNNING!!! That pic of Adam has been repeated several times on the thread this afternoon/evening, but with more muted colors. Where did you find yours with the darker more intense color? Posted somewhere on the thread before the second one. This pic is so gorgeous that I want to frame it and hang it on my wall. It almost looks like a painting!!!

ProBoards has all of the servers back up and there should be no more major service issues.
If you run into an issue, it will not last long.

I have been at 2 shows where Sauli was there and have never seen him in the middle of the crowd like that. Doubt that is him. Reports from some AToppers were that Sauli was in an audience area "off to the side"
