I am excited too because the bald alien AVIs make me "Skeeeeeered!" Me too!! I have been trying to figure out a way to hack it so that it does not appear, but I have failed. Perhaps I should try harder?!?! Setting that aside -- I am no pleased that GLAAD is recognizing Adam and also that he is performing at the Life Ball and 2 Pride events. This is one of those times when I believe the planets will align for him. He is fianlly getting real support from the gay community and I guess he no longer "scares" the establishment gays that he will fuck it all up by being the "wrong" kind of gay. He is really building his international pretense. He expanded his relationships with US radio PDs during the Trespassing era (yes, I know they did not give his singles a lot of support but he is well liked and respected, and his fans have a very good reputation with radio for being passionate, loyal and nice) Now he just needs to release a new single from Adam 3. My money is on a single in August, perhaps a second single based on how the first one does, and album in Q1 2014. (which would be fast for Adam.) I am probably wrong. But it appears the landscape should be very favorable for his next album.

You all know I am on Vacay in CO visiting BIL and SIL. One of their daughters, my favorite niece, is here too. She lives in Austria and planned her vacay so she'd be here with us. She is 42 and has lived there for 10 years. She married an Austrian. Anyway, she has been to Life Ball 3 years in a row! One of her best friends works for the Austrian airline and gets tickets each year. I asked my niece Kim of she has heard of Adam Lambert. Her reply, "Of course!" I told her he was doing Life Ball this year and she said that is really BIG deal!! Before the GLAAD awards came up, I actually considered flying the Vienna for the Life Ball!

If you decide to do the Life Ball, save some time for Vienna! One of the best destinations in the world. It is gonna be a great summer! And I expect there is more to come.

JFI, particularly those in the UK: There's an hour-long programme called 'NileRodgers-the hitmaker' tonight on BBC4, the arts channel of the BBC. I KNOW it won't mention Adam because it's the UK and .......well, just because; BUT I also know that if I don't record it, it'll be like not taking my umbrella just because the sun's shining

I have noticed over the past few days that in the US the phrase LBGTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer) is growing in usage. Particularly for the Q = questioning usage for teens and young adults who are struggling with their evolving sexual identity. ** Also, I want to post a shoutout to Jeff Antonoff and the band Fun. for their efforts to support LGBTQ teens. www.theallycoalition.org/About The Ally Coalition The band Fun. and designer Rachel Antonoff have joined forces to create The Ally Coalition (TAC) with the purpose of inspiring people, in particular their peers in the music, fashion and entertainment industry, to take action for LGBTQ equality. TAC believes that it is the responsibility of allies to support LGBTQ causes and fight against discrimination through education, awareness and advocacy.
