What am I not getting??? Would payment for artists for Miami Pride be through advertsing sponsors, donors, or how do they pay the artists, and all the organizing, advertsing, police, security for the smooth running of a parade and the associated activities?
I did not see a list of any sponsors...which one would think would be showcase in a significant way with the schedule of events. I must be wrong and just cannot locate them??????
Special related events, competitions, social gatherings do have ticket prices, but are modest and would not cover off the huge ticket items like the entertainment and parade organization. Just interested in knowing, if anyone knows how these events are funded....thanks! www.miamibeachgaypride.com/donateSpoke to a guy named Richard Murry, PR, way back when announced. He sent me that page. I think Nieman-Marcus and Aetna are also sponsors. Adam had something to do with/at the Nieman at Bal Harbor Shops way back, but I don't remember the circumstances. Bal Harbor is the lovely area just north of Miami Beach. The Pride events are primarily support by local community groups and volunteers. They also incorporate fee events in with the free parade and concerts. Most of the big events also have corporate sponsors. MY GUESS -- For Adam it is probably part of the AT&T Pride Campaign deal. I do not think it is not a coincidence that he is doing two Pride events in the same year he is part of AT&T's campaign.

No confirmation that Adam will be on Idol this year or not. And Idol is announcing the performers 1 week in advance. Nigel specifically mentioned Adam earlier this season so Adam is at least scheduled to be featured in an Idol "Where are they now" segment but that does not mean he will perform. There was a report that an Idol crew filming him when he was in Shanghai. But perhaps that was for China Idol?!? I think there was no info beyond the fan report. Adam will be in China next week so he could not do Idol next week. Aside from having the biggest Idol stars on the results shows, there is no real pattern to who they are booking: Phillip Phillips | Winner AI11 | Casey Abrams | #6 AI10 | Jessica Sanchez feat. Ne-Yo | #2 AI11 | Colton Dixon | #7 AI11 | OneRepublic with Katharine McPhee | #2 AI5 | Casey James | #3 AI9 | Carrie Underwood | Winner AI4 | Scotty McCreery | Winner AI10 | Kelly Clarkson | Winner AI1 |
|
| Next week Top 5
|
| Fantasia | Winner AI3 | Clay Aiken | #2 AI2 |
There are two more weeks plus the finale. They have 6 winners who have not been on the show: Rubin AI2, Taylor AI5, Jordin AI6, Cook AI7, Kris AI8, Lee AI9. They seem likely to bring back at least one of the winners. (My money in on Jordin and Cook since they are the most popular of the remaining Idol winners). So assuming they book 2 winners that leaves a couple open slots. But it leave quite a number of possibilities -- Adam, Daugherty, JHud, Lauren Alaina and several others seem possible to me. There is also the final. ** But since Adam is one of the most successful Idol alums, and he is in one of the WRTN features, and he does fit the producers theme that Idol makes stars, I really think there is a very good chance he will perform on Idol this season. I saw this morning and now can respond. You say there is no guarantee if he appears on Idol he will sing. Well every single Idol that has came on Idol so far--every single on you listed up there--they have all sung. Why would Adam be any different? Hell Clay doesn't even have a label and who knows if he has new music yet he will be on and he probably will sing. (GOD HELP US ALL) What else would he do? Talk about his time on Celebrity Apprentice? LOL. I think the wording from that TV Guide thing is being taken a little too heart by some. I keep seeing people as "When are they gonna do the where are they now segments?" and I say THEY HAVE BEEN. They are just not doing it in the way it sounded like they would in the article. There is no focusing on the less successful/failures like was hinted at in the article (which would have been stupid tbh. Why pimp the rejects when the whole premise is to show that THIS show--not the Voice etc--makes stars?) so either that was just plain wrong or the angle changed. Basically the "where are they nows" are less "where are they now?" and more like HEY HERE IS A SUPER SUCCESSFUL PAST CONTESTANT! WATCH THE PROMO PACKAGE DETAILING THEIR CAREER THUS FAR! THEN THEY SHALL SING! YAY! And they usually seem to pair a newer idol or slightly less high profile one with a "bigger" idol. Casey performed on Carrie's show, Colton with Kat McPhee who is more known, etc etc. So IF Adam is on I am going to assume he WILL perform because so far EVERYONE has--just what he would sing who knows--and he would be paired with someone who has a nice career going but who isn't like at his ~level. But I DO agree with the last part. That he probably will perform. For all the above reasons. No -- sorry for any misunderstanding, I thought my post was pretty clear. I should have included that the WRTN segments are video -- pre-recorded. Idol showing a video of Adam (which Nigel confirmed they will) is no guarantee that Adam will be on the show at all. If he is not on the show, he cannot perform. My GUESS is he will be on the show. But NO ONE -- Idol producers or Adam or Adam's management has said he will be on Idol this year. So that means we are all just guessing. If I missed some confirmation, please let me know. ETA: Edited by Q3 because I just re-read my post. But I guess it did not dawn on me I had to eliminate the possibility that Adam would walk on stage on Idol, and leave without singing. If he is there, he will be sing.

Is it possible, that Adam may not be on AI? Nigel wasn't particularly nice when the judging issue came up. He was rather belligerent to Adam fans. So maybe he just will not include Adam.

Thanks savvy and Q3....the A T and T link makes sense..yes...possibly! Interesting that Pittsburgh is paid attendance to defray expenses and Miami is free. Yet...if Miami has a larger "community" to support the event that too could make the difference.
