Nigel name checked Adam in an early press conf. If he is not doing Idol, I would say it was his decision. The Where Are They Now segments are shown prior to the Idol performing live on the show.

Adam has recently been talking about the Idol stigma---going on the show to sing a cover (probably) without having anything new to promote just wouldn't be worth it in the long-run, IMO. Better to wait until next year when he will have something new and exciting to promote. Why can't he do both? This year and next year? This year could help him sell a few more copies of Trespassing and show people who don't follow him as closely as we do that he hasn't disappeared off the radar. I was looking forward to the video package they would introduce him with, which was sure to include his concerts with Queen as well as the GNT and WAG tours. Judging by what the show has done so far, I don't think they'll have a Where Are They Now segment unless he performs. They don't just stick those things into the show willy-nilly. They use them to introduce the Idols who have come back to sing on the show. Agreed. I haven't seen any "Where are the now" segments without a performance. If Adam isn't scheduled to perform, there won't be any video montage. I think these gay pride gigs are fabulous promotion....and I'm seriously side-eyeing a few posts today. OH!....and could he look any hotter?!! DAMN!! |

In this closeup pic, the pants don't look like they exactly match. Really, apart from Carrie Underwood, nobody does Idol every year. Not Daughtry, not Kelly, nobody. Either they are on to promote new stuff, or they are on because they have nothing else going on and need the exposure. Strategically, Adam does not NEED this appearance, and he certainly doesn't need to go back on AI to sing a cover. The AI audience isn't going to see him and then suddenly rush out to look for Trespassing, at least not in significant enough numbers. But, he is tapping a great market with these Pride things. These concerts are incredibly smart, for a lot of reasons. To add, I have no doubt Adam could appear on AI if he wanted to. No doubt. I think this was a good decision by his team. eta---at some point, the whole AI thing would start to look desperate, and Adam is not in that position at all. Because Adam is not a presence on the radio, many people don't know that he's still out there doing things. We know, because we follow his every move, but I think it would have been nice for him to have that appearance on Idol because they would have shown what he's achieved in his career since Idol. Joining Queen for that series of concerts was impressive, especially when they performed in front of over a quarter of a million people in Kiev, and that's the kind of thing that would have been in the video package to introduce him. In my opinion, a performance on Idol, complete with a video compilation of his accomplishments, would not be considered desperate; it would just show everyone how busy and successful he has been all over the world in the past several years. I don't see anything wrong with that. |

You're right. Maybe he had such a rough night that he accidentally got the pants turned wrong side out, inverting the spots. I'll add that to my list.You're right about the ETA too. Hmmm .... the thread is shady today . A bit spooky . Why , guys ? Why are there peeps saying "OMG he's getting irresponsible and careless" (based on a fan tweet , no real facts , lol!!) and there peeps saying "OMG , no Idol appearance" wait but what would an Idol performance with NO SINGLE to promote help him ? Get the ppl to remember Adam ? really ? Well , I remember he did a NCOE performance on Idol last year , and guess what ? it did not help him , or the single itself , much tbh . And anyways , when he does have a new single , then yeah I'm sure he'll get to perform on Idol (and all the other shows too) And there are peeps saying "Where's the oofta tattoo? I really relate to your post Kamar. I'm feeling a little spooked myself for reasons quite different. But spooked just the same. In my case, I have posted three times over the last 4 days and have not had one response. I am not a conspiracy theorist. But I do like the saying "Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean people aren't really out to get you." I am now contemplating the possibility that there have been a lot of behind the scenes DMs and an "in-group" agreement to ostrasize me due to my c-word bombing post a couple months ago. I of course, wouldn't want anyone to destroy important in-group loyalties or cohesive group integrity agreements by responding to my posts in the thread. After all, then they might be ostrasized as well.
For people who don't know me and only know me from that volatile situation I have worked hard my whole life to be a kind and good person and, though I have many flaws, I believe I am a kind and good person. I am open and honest. I do have definite strong opinions. But, I previously thought this forum was open to diversity and differences and was able to accept differences in opinion as exactly that, differences of opinion and not personal threats.
I am not a particularly threatening person. I am generally known as a kind person with strong beliefs about treating others with respect and dignity and not following the status quo when it involves disrespecting others and, most importantly, when it involves disrespecting any vulnerable population.
I also thought the forum was open to conversation about the cultural aspects of Adam Lambert, the man and the pop star. I hope this is true and that people do not ostrasize people who vocalize disagreement with Adam's choices every once in a while. Everyone is human and I don't believe it is healthy to create a religion (around a pop star, or anyone, or anything for that matter) that ostrasizes people who voice dissenting opinions. I hope that we continue to encourage freedom of speech and diversity here even when one disagrees with an opinion!
I have loved Adamtopia in the past and I hope the environment is still friendly to people like me who may express strong dissenting opinions every once in a while. Places that close themselves off from diverse opinions tend to become stagnant and boring. (Yes, that is my personal opinion : )
