A couple of things I agree with: From murly-The theme this season seems to be the Where Are They Now of past idols. Perfect timing for him to be on even if he doesn't have anything to promote. He is one of their most successful and unforgettable contestants so he belongs there as much as or more than the others. I don't think Clay or Kat McPhee has anything to promote. Now - if this was his and his management's decision I bow to them and hope they know what they're doing. I don't even watch the show so I have no personal interest in this. I just agree that it would be good promo to remind people of the special things he's been involved in. Believe it or not some have no clue. From durberville- Yes! And Adam has in the past lamented the fact that the gay community didn't seem particularly supportive of his music. That seems to be changing and I think it's very important to him. In fact gay support of any artist appears to carry weight in the music world. And last - HOW FABULOUS DOES HE LOOK IN THOSE PRESS PHOTOS??? HOT HOT HOT!!!

I'm counting 3 undone buttons. I tend to favour the shallow end.

skylar, you are not being ostracized. Whenever anyone on this board posts there are always five people reading who feel exactly the same, they just don't say anything. (Ok, I pulled that number out of thin air but you get the idea.) Whenever I post, I just imagine five people sitting in front of their computers nodding in agreement with their fingers frozen on the keyboard unable to come up with an appropriately serious or witty response. Works for me. Out of lurking for this one... one of the five people nodding in agreement For us ...

Adam doing big pride events is good for his career. Besides doing it as a show of support and such, it's a great way to broaden his exposure to and appeal to the gay community. Get some more cute guys buying his music and coming to his shows.
I don't see him choosing to focus on more "gay centric" gigs. Hell he's doing China stuff and performing a concert at the SD fair...so really I think he is an equal opportunity performer. As for why is isn't on Idol, who knows. Could conflict with some schedule stuff, stuff we don't even know about, or perhaps his management didn't think it was wise at this point for various diff reasons.
Yeah woulda been nice to have him there but it's not the be all to end all. Plus this year blows. Now I can stop watching LOL

[tilts mod hat out of eyes] Guys - as long as its done respectfully, desenting opinions ARE INDEED allowed on this board. There is no requirement for "group-think", sheep herd, or lemming behavior. No one should ever feel ashamed about feeling differently about a topic. That said, if an opinion is made from a differing viewpoint [grins and bows with memories of past debates] just understand that there will likely be discussion. THOSE discussions are LIKEWISE expected to be respectful. If they aren't, the mods will step in. [smiles] It would be boring if everyone felt the same. And, yes, sometimes an opinion may rub a reader the wrong way. If that occurs, either RESPECTFULLY provide a counter-opinion or just scroll until the topic moves back to a preferable place. [grins] As long as you (aka any poster) loves Adam, thoughts are welcome. There are ~always~ people who feel differently on any topic. Some love GB shallow-end splashing, some find it squicky. Some adore love life speculation, some eyeroll. Its all ok. Just include as much humor and metaphorical glitter as you can and the board will continue humming along.
