Q3 and anyone else, do you have much information on Interscope Music? I know Madonna, Lady Ga Ga, Eminem, and will.i.am are some of their artists. Is there much of a difference in their approach to promoting their artists than RCA? How do you feel RCA's way of promoting artists compares to other record labels. I really don't know much about record labels and this really interests me.
Is Katy Perry still going to start her own label?

I SO AGREE BUT......................................... I am so disappointed w USA mgt for not "tooting' Adam's success in China. Granted it's not a Grammy award BUT it is a hugh honor (the CMA) and like someone said earlier, a hugh music market. I'd be 'f n' tweeting every friggin station about this award then maybe radio would give air time to his next single. I click on People.com and you will see various artists getting awards and making fashion statements, etc OK then RCA tweet a msg to various news sight and boost about their artist achievement. IDK but a contractor came into my office and saw my signed auto from AL and made a comment that she didn't even know he was still around. damn... yes he is not the TOP 10 artists that radio loves but he still successful more so than 90% of other recording artists. OK I'm just venting. but if I didn't read atops, then I would have no idea what success he is having overseas. Just disappointed w his mgt I agree that I wish RCA would make a bigger deal out of the TV exposure Adam is getting in China -- but I am a realist, RCA is responsible for US sales and being big in China (or most other countries) means very little to US music buyers and radio PDs. China will someday be an important music market, but currently and for the near term, it is very difficult for record labels to make money in China. Adam and his management can make money from sponsorships, but it is the #20 (or so) market for sales of recorded music (all formats) and it is the #1 source of online pirated music (+ stolen software, movies, books and other intellectual property) for the entire world. The Chinese government has made a couple very modest efforts to fix the IP protection issues but without some real, significant improvement in legal protection, the labels will continue to be lukewarm on China (and several other countries in the world -- like most of the Mediterranean countries.) Regarding the CMAs -- As a TV program that is widely seen (125 million views), this appearance is important. I am not sure how important this award is as an award. There is no academy, it is not something that is placed on product packaging, and I believe the nominees and winners are selected by the producers. I get your point, Q3. But if I were in charge . . . . I'd latch on to anything my artists did and at least tweet about it. How hard is that. You don't even have to write a press release or anything. As has been said, any publicity is good (debatable), and this is good stuff.

China could very well turn out to be the gold mine for Adam personally and his management, but as Q3 pointed out above, presently and in the near future, China is not a desirable market for music sales and has very little influence on the US market, as well as other major western markets, although it would be nice for RCA at least to acknowledge it (I mean the award).
Btw, I don't think there is an actual "Academy Awards" in the Chinese music industry, it seems all their awards shows are based on popularity and made for TV, nonetheless, a huge honor and great exposure for Adam! Now, with the upcoming Chinese Idol, Adam's star will only keep soaring in Asia.

Did someone already bring over the tweet about Niles leaving for LA? Assuming what I hope is happening.. do these guys even take a day to recoup?? Whirlwind life!! Also, another tweet from Shoshanna about "great meeting at Universal HQ" , replied to "Duckbert"question as towhat the meeting was about ~ " your favorite artist is signed to Sony." Wasn't OUR favorite artist always signed to Sony? Or does he get resigned for every new album? I think what Shoshanna's trying to say to "Duckbert", the meeting's not about Adam Lambert, since he's signed to Sony. Looks like Shoshanna has another client that's a Universal's artist.

Reposting. No one else cares? Or did I miss the flailing? You don't have to be French to be excited about this. French lawmakers on Tuesday extended marriage and adoption rights to same-sex couples, making France the 14th country in the world to legalise gay marriage.
The US is far behind so many other countries in human rights. Makes me feel kind of ashamed.
Good for them. I think I saw a link to the vote on the Huffington video that was linked last week about the New Zealand vote. Dominoes falling.
