Both albums are wonderful and contain many musical gems, and it goes without saying their vocals are simply out of this world, but for my taste I give the edge to Trespassing. FYE has two songs that I almost always skipped, Loaded Smile and Soaked. Soaked was just about my favorite song on GNT, but the completely overwrought production ruined the CD version for me. A song about getting drunk and hooking up with a one night stand doesn't call for a symphonic lead in. On the whole I would say that I do not enjoy the production on FYE as much as Trepassing's. I don't have any regular skippers on Trespassing. I like its light and dark structure which makes it seem more cohesive. I have yet to tire of it, and still play it often, and it always feels fresh. Favorites from FYE are BO and WWFM, from Trespassing Shady and OOL.

jean, like you I find Trespassing the superior album for the reasons you cited -- cohesiveness and production. I also find the overall quality of the songwriting and musicality to be superior on Trespassing.
The only song I regularly skip on Trespassing is NCOE. The only other song I have tired of a little is OOL. All the others feel as fresh to me as they did a year ago.
I have tired of many of the FYE songs -- then again, it has been 3 1/2 years of exposure. I've replaced many of them with the GNT versions when available because I like them better. The songs I still enjoy the most in their original FYE versions are Fever, Voodoo, Broken Open, and IIHY.

Constantine had a very long interview on a Classic Rock radio station this am. Here's a little of what he said concerning singing with Queen: Not verbatim - tweeted by someone listening to his interview - " he laughs oh well u know I did sing with them on Idol, I keep in touch Dr May is GREAT etc - that would be cool we could do festivals & such" I mean no one sings those songs like ME!!"
He could be vying for the lead in WWRY musical that may be coming to Broadway. I sent him this:
@constantinem This guy did a pretty good job with Queen.

Oooh, and let's see...when Brian and Roger wanted someone to fill Freddie's very large shoes for those appearances in Europe, whom did they call? Didja notice your phone not ringing, Constantine?

What has been my fave album ? Damn Adam , couldn't you think of an easier question ? I honestly don't know . FYE was more umm , Rock pop electronica glam , and TRSP was more , funky pop elctronica , But the songs with a more "rock" edge were put as bonus tracks , which I think was a mistake . Both albums were excellent , But right now , I'm in the mood for some rock . I'll pick FYE today . Don't know , I might pick TRSP tomorrow , It depends on my mood THIS. My heart pounds for rock usually, but I like funk too, oh what the heck...I actually really like the eclectic mix tbh, and FYE obviously had that. I don't need an album held together by one sound only, I get bored easily. It can be held together by a storyline or a certain theme or it is a theater play in 12-15 short acts or whatever. I really don't get hung up on that. In fact I would love to add a bit of classic r&b sound or a rock anthem (Brian May, please), rather than reducing the sound variety. Or perhaps he wants to do something that ties his distinct and richly layered electronic sound together with some international flair (various Asian sounds - Bowie's China girl comes to mind). I can think of tons of directions. If it is interesting, I'll be on board and I will have friends I can interest in this too. FYE and TSP were both interesting in many ways, although different ones. One thing I did notice is that Trespassing is missing the inclusive crowd song or representative song, i.e. it is actually not easy to pick one song from TSP that would be good to sing on idol. In China they picked Mad World. I think they may also have had a bit of a struggle to find the right song to REPRESENT on the show. WWFM fulfilled that role for FYE. It also has in its hook a good question to ask for an artist at the beginning of his career. WWFM? Trespassing (the song) is a good mission for Adam as a person in who he is and where he is headed, but for the show he is helping to sell, it is not quite as good a theme. They instead went for something that would accentuate vocal interpretation and quality delivery, which speaks for the show they are selling and so they chose Mad World. Adam had a few songs in his first album that touched on performing. The FYE message of entertaining an audience is good, but of course the songs lyrics go off in a different directions of 'entertainment', making this not a good choice for the situation. The song title, Music Again, was promising when we first heard it, but the lyrics ended up taking it in a personal direction also. Nothing wrong with that for the album, but does not work for representation purposes or to share the stage with others. Strut is showy, of course, but could anybody besides Adam deliver it (if he has to sing with one of the finalists). And it is a throwback rhythmically. Then there are Pop that Lock and Cuckoo. F-word, which could be dropped like in China and all the innuendo aside, these may be his best choices for a typical idol performance. And then there is Runnin'. Why did he make that a bonus track? I would so love to see him blow the roof of the idol stage with something like that, even if he does not quite take it all the way through two-and-a-half octaves or shares the song with one other person, leaving the high note passages distinctly to him. For the next album, I think he needs that one extrovert crowd pleaser that can be sung for all kinds of occasions. Perhaps he could make a song about singing itself. How he wants to make people feel with his songs, how he wants to make them dance, think, be moved and have a ball. I am just rambling...gotta focus back on getting my work done. Have fun...
