But see - if I'm not sad about something, I also have the right to express my feelings. Works both ways. Freedom all around I say. I totally agreed with your right to express that you weren't sad in the post that I deleted. There is no right or wrong way to feel. But it IS OK to feel. Back at ya!

This site was created because of Adam and should be a place where diversity of thought and opinion can be freely expressed. If it is not mean spirited and hurtful, it should be recognized as another person's reaction, feeling and/or opinion. A verbal stomp is unkind. Many of us were moved by the energy that was exchanged between the boys eyes and bodies. You don't see that every day. In fact you rarely see it. So the dream that many of us had is gone. I suspect it means that our own dreams are now more limited. I think you express the intent of this forum quite well but to be clear, there was not a standard or a post not being "mean spirited and hurtful" the standard is of respect. I believe that is a higher standard than not being hurtful. A verbal stomp is disrespectful and unexceptionable. Disagreeing with someone's opinion is not a verbal stomp -- insulting the poster is.

Liam McEwan just said that his brother discovered the WWFM duet from Voice of China available on iTunes. the link was posted here yesterday or the day before. I downloaded both the duet and his performance of Trespassing .... It was #1500 on the US Pop iTunes chart yesterday. Not on the Top 1500 right now.

It bothers me that it still bothers me. And it's not in a motherly way, or even a sisterly or friend way. It's kind of like what I was taught in yoga, that we are all bodies of energy, made of the all the same elements that are in the the periodic table, the Universe. That energy is in layers around us and connects us to other humans, the planet. I have felt that with /from Adam. I feel somehow universally connected, and I know I am not alone. Through his music, his voice, his openness, he has given me back a joy that I had forgot existed, reminded me how it felt to play , to get lost in making music, something I abandoned a long time ago. I turned my back on what sustained me through my young adulthood and carried on, thinking I didn't miss a thing. But I did. All I want for him in return is to be eternally happy. I know that is not possible, he is human, and life is not always joy. It is constant ebb and flow of lessons and growth. Somehow, for me, when he was with Sauli I thought he had it all, and I was good with receiving his gifts. Which is the only reason I can fathom why it bothers me still. Thanks for listening. True post...'cause when I saw that photo it made ME sad... and I went to my A/S file to look at the Whole Foods pics with the two of them pushing the grocery cart together. I loved their interraction and have to say , like a good book or movie , their journey is a very fond memory.

Reading the article praising Adam for his support of Angie, for him not trying to steal the spotlight or outsing her, and then listening to the duet for the hundredth time, I smiled. IMO, Adam both stole the spotlight and greatly outsang Angie just by being so damned good! Listen to Angie's first line of the song. Soft, light, pretty. Then, listen when Adam starts singing. A striking difference in tone, purity, and beauty. It causes you to take an involuntary gasp at the sound. From the perspective of a trained singer, my ears just perk up and my mind says, "What IS that?" From that point on, my focus is on THAT voice, even when it is singing the harmony line to the song. I don't think it is because I am an Adam fan. It is because that voice, that delivery, that quality and sensitivity is compelling all by itself. If I had never heard the name "Adam Lambert" I would sit upright and lean forward to listen with that first sung phrase. "Who IS this guy?????"
Yes, Adam was a wonderful support for Angie, and he did throw the focus to her constantly. I think he also drew out a more nuanced performance from her just by inspiration (and probably a little coaching as well). He was generous to a fault. I loved it. Just saying, when Adam sings his voice just radiates light that cannot help but draw your attention. When Adam sings, he is such a master of his voice that what he does is in a different league from other singers. No matter who Adam sings with, he will shine.

It is just uncanny how you manage to put my thoughts into words. How do you do that?

That is beautiful, cassie. I am so intrigued by this gorgeous duet, and I believe the reason I am so drawn to it is that I feel the connection between Adam and Angie. They sing TO each other, and so tenderly. The other duets finale night almost seemed to be outsinging contests - singers standing beside each other singing loudly, yet singing separately. Adam and Angie drew me into their world. So now I must watch it again - right now!

For comparison, here is a "movie video" style video of Angie singing basically the same version of Titanium. It was posted several months ago, I think just before the live Idol rounds. So looks like Angie had already come up with a slow version of the song and was hoping to sing it at some point on the show. How nice that she was able to work with Adam & Michael Orland to make this version even better and finally perform it on the show. It must have been a wonderful learning experience for Angie & judging by her response to Adam, she was ecstatically happy with the result. I hope some of the music experts here can critique the difference in Angie's singing between these two version so that the rest of us can get a better understanding of the technical improvements that we can hear but don't really know where it is coming from. And the duet version again so that you don't have to go looking for it to compare:
