The Getty is the most perfectocation. On the top of that hill you can see the city and the ocean! You've been to the new one, right? Yes, I have been there. The Getty has the most perfect location for a museum in the world and is an amazing building/campus. It has the best architecture, gardens, and views. I used to live on Malibu beach a few miles away and went there often.
The view from the Getty is astounding.....
I believe it is the most expensive building ever built as a museum. But the collection is not as great as the building -- although they have some very important European paintings and a spectacular photography collection.
I prefer the LA County Museum of Art collection -- just covers things that are of more interest to me. LACMA covers a broader range including ancient art, oriental art, American art, fashion, film, photography, decorative arts etc. And since they started the museum update and expansion in 2004, they museum is really being transformed. The Broad Contemporary Art Museum which opened a few years ago is very well curated and inspiring. The Latin American Art Galleries and the pre-Columbian galleries are all new and the collections are as good as they get. And the new Movie Museum is almost done.
I used to be a member of both museums but now I support the Akron Art Museum and Cleveland Art Museum. And thanks to Adam for dragging me to London last summer, I am a member of the Tate Modern which is the most amazing museum I have ever been to.

First of all, in comparing those two versions of Titanium, I want to give credit where credit is due. This clearly demonstrates that Angie had come up with the idea to slow the song down in this way and imo she turned an average pop song into something special by doing so. Confirms to me, what I think about Angie anyhow, that there is a fantastic song-writer and artist there, with a very good voice on top of it. Because holding her own with Adam - and she did that (yes, I know he held back, but still) - it is obviously something that only few can do, and most would shrink away at the suggestion that they should even try. So, credit where credit is due. Over the last 4 months, Angie has received expert voice training and she has improved in breath control, phrasing, pacing herself, her lower range is stronger now than it was on the older version, etc. So, not all was Adam or Michael Orland in the last few days of rehersal - neither is it possible to tell exactly what Adam might have added or not. I do think that last night, they kept it slow, whereas in her solo version she started running faster as the song progressed, which did not help her. Given that Adam has demonstrated at many other times how he uses this element to his advantage and very skillfully so, I am presuming that credit belongs to him for that one. Adam also knows how to bring variety into a frequently repeated phrase and his demonstration of that skill is superior to hers in the duet version. Angie has two styles of singing: a) Silent, tender singing and b) belting it out. Adam nuances throughout the song, going along with her general concept and yet adding so much depth by what he does first with his echo voice and then with his harmonies. That is where the role reversal really shows, imo. Because normally the more interpretive and more skilled singer will take the lead and the other person sings harmonies as best they can and in this case, we got the opposite. The beauty of this was of course that it sounded so much richer that way, because let's face it: Singing close harmonies like these so cleanly is a skill that only few can master. Add to that the variety demonstrated, add to that that Adam went along with her pacing and adapted to her style, and it just shows a skill level that any musically trained person will pick up immediately. But obviously, even the lay person will hear the quality in these harmonies and therefore this enthusiastic response. These were not easy harmonies to sing. They were tightly structured and reminded me otherwise of a female-female Donizetti opera aria or something, where you would typically hear such vocal skills. It's a beautiful thing to hear this. Never heard such a thing done in pop music . If anybody ever tells you they doubt that Adam could have been capable of a classic tenor career should he have chosen to do so, just play them this piece. They will not ask anymore, I promise. Adam is brilliant and he is shining bright like a diamond in every way. I can't stop playing it, and while we are at it, this below is what idol itself tweeted out. It is a separate Fox TV recording and not the youtube version, and the video tends to lag a bit, at least on my computer, but it probably is good to give it some hits too, because I think they are trying to get their own impression on who listens to what they put on their site, independent from the youtube counter. So, please give it some hits too, TY @americanidol: Did you get chills when @angieai12 & @adamlambert took on "Titanium" - fox.tv/Z3PZoa ? #idolfinale ETA: Q3, agree with you that this was brilliant song choice by Angie. We were all here scratching our heads what they could do together and this suited them both in vocals and lyrics. It was a very good choice. Crazzyforadam, Thanks, this is exactly what I was hoping for in a critique! Do you also have some thoughts on Angie versus Candice vocals, from a musical expert standpoint. Q3 had mentioned that Angie was more technically skilled, but I'm not sure where the difference lies. Seems like two very different types of voices to me - even the way they belt seems different to me, but I don't understand what the difference is. ETA - here are YouTube playlists for both girl's studio recordings: Angie: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFJvwkjMiMdYkMG3fvNcqXJ4iTam3ArfyCandice: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFJvwkjMiMdZOXd4cOFlspanR7qelpf2UI spent a good bit of time listening to both. I liked everything Angie did. But I only really liked the big booming songs that Candice did, namely I Who Have Nothing, Lovesong, etc. But then even with Whitney Houston I love the big booming songs best and the softer R&B stuff I find boring - probably just my personal tastes. Candice says she had not formal vocal or music training prior to Idol. I hope she gets some now. I am not interested in watching another case like Chris Daughtry. Q Do you have any formal music training? Candice: No Link: www.americanidol.com/contestants/season_12/candice-glover Angie has been professionally coached. She is not as naturally gifted as Candice or Adam but she is very sharp and very ambitious.

Dancygeorgia - I am no musical or vocal expert. Just choir singing and general classical music training. It's that Austrian in me that just grows up with Mozart and Haydn, rather than Michael Jackson and Madonna. That's all.
So, that said: I can't speak for Q3 and I also would have not said that Angie has more technical skill, I personally was more on team Candice actually. But that is because Angie seemed a bit emotionally unconnected and distant and I prefer more the heart of sleeve style that I get from Candice. So it was more a matter of preference rather than technical consideration. Both are great singers and I thought the finale should be those two, with Candice as winner. It just happens to be so, that in this particular song the unconnected, colder quality played well with the lyrics and therefore worked for Angie, hence brilliant song choice. And for Adam it worked too, because the song was in his upper register - where the angels do their ice skating which sounds like cold Titanium, doesn't it? - and on a personal level of course the lyrics work too.
Sorry, not a very technical answer, but I hope it works. Candice sings much more soulful, and with more force. Angie sounds more like glass and can do a more general pop sound well. Adam can do both, he could have sung with Candice too, it just would have had to be totally different. Hope that answer helps.

Re Sadness and grocery pictures: I want him to not carry any burden because of us. Be free to run his life without extra baggage. He already carries the extra burden of public life - paparazzi -etc. But, if he feels hindered to freely 'feel' - then this must be a heavy weight to carry and I don't want that for him. So, tbh, I shake it off, not because I don't want to feel it, but because I don't want to burden him and obviously, I'm not in his life and can do nothing about his anyhow. Just staying out and making an intentional effort to do so, makes it healthier, imo, and if this energy feedback loop is for real, then hopefully is perceived as freeing. Very interesting! You have some excellent points, Craazyforadam!

NoAngel @noangelpf 8m Thank you! RT @miachihu: Sauli's videoblog May 19th "Beverly Hills with Pia" transl. at SC/Atop adamtopia.com/post/398693/thread … @tiiqqu I guess this means that Sauli is looking for his own apartment, possibly sharing with this girl Pia, i.e., moving out of Adam's apartment. They are joking about getting a home near Brad Pitt etc. since they are so "cheap" in Beverly Hills. So imo this vid has nothing to do with actual house hunting, they were sightseeing there with Katri & others (a pic is posted in Sauli central). Though I think Adam will not mind for Sauli to stay at his condo for a while, but I think it's wise for him to start searching for a new place or to move out of Adam's condo. Yes they're still good friend, but I think it will be awkward if each of them start seeing new guys. Yes they agree to break up but to see your ex with another person?? bet it still hurt

I think that is a pretty good answer and I have similar feelings about the two -- although I was not an avid fan of any of the contestants this year including Candice or Angie. I do not know what is real and what is not about Angie. But she is a well trained singer or rarely hits an off key note. I knew she had vocal training without even looking it up. Everything about her seems calculated and planned. She reminds me of Pia Toscano. Somehow cold. Candice is almost the polar opposite. She is warm and soulful. She clearly has no formal training and is singing solely based upon her own experience and what she hears. The is an observation, not a critique. Many of my favorite vocalists are not formally trained. But there is a price for singing with poor technique and as the Idol season went on, there was a difference in the quality of her vocals and she missed some high notes that she is capable of hitting. She is young but I hope someone works with her so she learns how to protect and manage her voice better. I actually have grown tired of the R&B diva style -- JHud, Candice, and so on. It has a sameness about it that sounds old and stale to me.

Yeah, me too. Can't one get groceries delivered in West Hollywood? I don't want to see pictures of unhappy adam shopping alone at Trader Joe's. mmm.. how do we know he's unhappy?? I think most of us will have that same expression when we go grocery shopping alone.. AT LEAST that would be my expression would be funny and weird if he flashes his smile to people around him .. LOL I think it is only ME that thinks he looks unhappy and of course I don't really know if he is unhappy. Probably because I am unhappy and projecting it. And actually my comment was a bit tongue in cheek. Why the fuck are some things taken so seriously?

But see - if I'm not sad about something, I also have the right to express my feelings. Works both ways. Freedom all around I say. I certainly envy the fact that you are not sad. I really do. And I respect your expression of that lack of feeling. I wish I could say the same. I would give anything not to feel stuff.
