Ummm...didn't the previous year's song go on itunes? Or am I just remembering wrongly? Can't remember the thread where last year's life ball youtubes were posted. It might be that since Adam is under a recording contract with RCA, they can't sell the song on iTunes. Who was the singer last year? Maybe that person didn't have a recording contract that might prevent it from being sold on iTunes. Yes, unless there was some form of release to do this from RCA, this song cannot be released for sale. The 2012 Life Ball song, "Blindfold", was sung by 4 artists -- Melody Angel, Judith Hill, Truth Hurts und Natalia Kelly -- none of whom had major label contracts at the time. If it still for sale on iTunes. |

I see a date stamp of May 12 on that....I hope I'm wrong. Wouldn't you think that RCA would have let Adam know he couldn't have a co-write on this song if it was going to be released? So many people wanted it on iTunes and it would have been fabulous for charity!! Can you un-write yourself from a song??? This really stinks if indeed it was contractual on Adam's end. At least his management should have known. IF this indeed is the issue. What else could it be? LifeBall should have known as well. The issue is not about writing the song, it is about Adam as a performer. And if he does not sing it, do any of us what this song? |

Adam has sung for other charities.. what makes this song different? I'm really confused. ETA: So this was a special song written specifically for LifeBall. Adam performed this while under contract with a recording company, so it can't be sold on itunes? Unlike other charity songs that were never intended to go to itunes. Am I understanding this better? Sucks that RCA wouldn't give this a pass since it was for charity. Do royalty issues come into play here as well? That might be a toasty meeting in NYC with the 'suits'. How could Adam not have known this? |

If RCA would allow Adam's recording to be released on ITunes as a charity thing (technical term), it could be a win win. Life Ball wins, new fans find Adam and they in turn enrich RCA by buying Adam's other music. I know it isn't that simple, but... |

The board has been ridiculously slow today. That's why I've hardly been here. Too frustrating!
About the single and RCA, pretty sure Adam can perform "courtesy of RCA/Sony" just like he did for Time For Miracles.
I doubt there would be any problem with RCA.
