I looked at the poll and thought..who is the Guardian Express???? I'll vote if a poll means something or watch Titanium at least every hour on the hour, but this??? Nope. People get so mean and ugly. Especially now with the Idol rumors... The Guardian Express is from Las Vegas. There is a print edition. I think people are confusing it with The Guardian from the UK -- which it is not. This article and poll are not important. I honestly think some of the "Adam fan" comments are being posted by Clay fans so they can respond. Adam fans usually get their facts right and Clay's numbers are easy to get from Wiki.

The YouTube search page counters are not updated as frequently as the video page is updated. But counters lag reality. So where do you find the actual numbers? The most current numbers are on the Video's page. They are updated every 2 to 3 hours.

Especially now with the Idol rumors... [shudders] OMG - read a half-page of comments and now need brain bleach. Gah, that's an ugly situation there. Threw in a few votes for Adam, but not going back again. Jeesh. Awwww, it's little Dr. Sweets! As much as it pains me to let Clay fans win, I just don't want to be pulled into another meaningless poll. In situations like this, I just remind myself that Adam has won polls and Adam has lost polls, and neither result has ever had an effect on his career. The people who put these polls up know that they will be spammed, and so does everyone else. No one at Idol is going to take it seriously.

I love days like this when Adam is off da grid. because that way I can imagine he's out there secretly recording new music or setting up new gigs or writing songs...or, you know, getting to know someone new. Lolololol. (Yes I really am 12, there is no way around it.)

Adam Lambert as Ali Baba - I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way
A couple of days ago Adam Lambert generously treated us with The Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves adventure tale and my mind literally got blown away with the images and costumes which looked like they had been created by the Louis XIV seamstresses in golden Versailles, or coming straight out of a Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Moulin Rouge’ – in short, they were spectacular. Adam was a bona fide Persian prince; he was Prince Dastan meets Berber Sheikh meets Kublai Khan; his costume, for that is the going euphemism for the peacock attire he was sporting, was an elaborately and luxuriously ornamented, Sleep Walker revamped, a complete cerulean and sapphire and emerald dream-like explosion of glory. The coat was magical, I am sure, for two reasons at least: it looked as if more time went into its making than it took Penelope to weave a shroud while waiting for her Odysseus, which would be twenty years, give or take; and second, as clothes and fashion do, it helped Adam move into his role, which would be that of Ali Baba. Not that I had any doubts he would pull it off, I could totally imagine Adam as a medieval Arabic literature character; but my imagination is a scary place, not to be confused for a Viennese Life Ball stage. But he did it! He was Ali Baba that night from his royal, a thousand veils and a million ornaments oriental turban clad head to his probably painted, safely tucked in lavishly redecorated boots little toe. He stomped that stage into obedience and sang us into transcendence. He did not even need forty of those incredibly sexy hunks posing as thieves, although they were a nice touch, I have to say. The song, “Love Wins Over Glamour”, fit the occasion like a glove - if you thought that coming up with an appropriate song for a charity event, to be sung by an Ali Baba character in the middle of Rathaus square in Vienna, is an unsolvable conundrum, you would have been completely wrong. It should be ridiculous, the hint of it in the title itself, but it is not - again, Adam pulled it off, or to be more specific, his ridiculously surreal vocal apparatus together with his 1001 Nights apparel pulled it off. It is quite baffling, though, that among that entire extravaganza, his voice was the chief goose bumps, shiver- inducing factor. Oh well:) The lyrics are screenplay material, as adventurous and mischievous as the whole performance, but far be it from Adam to leave some kind of a message out – even in this cinematic, one time only occasion, he does not fail to remind us that love is it for him. In the middle of a pretty impressive news coverage of the event, one comment caught my eye. It was in a gay publication, Queerty, and they said: “Standing ovation, Adam! You are way over the top, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.” The italics on “way” belong to them, and yes, it is the ‘you are way over the top’ bit that caught my attention. It did not upset me too much per se, the OTT qualification is something Adam more or less regularly gets. The thing is, I have no idea why. Isn’t that ridiculous, that I, a country school teacher from a developing country in the middle of the Balkans cannot see anything over the top about Adam, while a gay publication writer from the most progressive country in the world thinks he is way over the top? I really do not get it. Was it the costume? The song? His voice? Does OTT mean TOO? Because that I can understand, Adam is too talented, too creative, too impressive indeed – he is completely OTT that way. It is just one more evidence that stereotyping is a dangerous past time, the one where delusion lies. The perception of Adam is so gender/sex/age/geography/background/colour-blind, or independent, that stereotyping his audience would be a sure fire fail of epic proportions. Meanwhile, as long as there are people out there who forgot how to play and dream, how to be passionate about what they do and expressive about what they love, I cannot help but think that they would, if they could, say to poor Penelope: “Chill out, sister! What’s with the moping? You’re way over the top.” And hey, if anyone out there thinks that my cultural references regarding Adam are also way over the top, it is between my passion for hot sexy singers and me:)

Good suggestion. Need something to do while I watch SYTYCD. Adam is now at 50% rather than behind
