The event will feature honorees, American Idol vet Adam Lambert, the One Archives, community activist Mia Yamamoto, President of Christopher Street West Rodney Scott, A Window Between Worlds founder Cathy Salser and creator and producer of AIDSWatch.org David Reid.
The acknowledgements will take place in the third floor Council Chamber. Adam Lambert debuted his latest song, "Love Wins Over Glamour" last Sunday at one of Europe's biggest social events of the season, Vienna's Life Ball. Keeping with the event's theme of 1001 Nights, Lambert premiered the song live while dressed as a jewel-covered sultan. Here's his reply to people asking on FB. He works for the city, not a council member, as I thought. But looks like he is involved with the ceremony. Have we seen this? Description of the flight from New York to Vienna: The party began before we left New York. Celebrities (Barbara Eden, Greg Louganis, Fergie, Carmen Electra), performers (Adam Lambert, 20 vogue-ers who were part of Fergie’s performance, “living doll” Yasmine Petty, a porn star, and Ru Paul’s Drag Race alums Sharon Needles, Willam, and Detox) as well as journalists departed from JFK on a chartered Austrian Air 777. I should say half of an Austrian Air flight as the other half was occupied by a group of soon-to-be very confused/traumatized Birthright-ers. I quickly learned that there are regular airplane rules (not standing or vogue-ing during take off) and Life Ball plane rules (stand/dance/get naked whenever you want at any point during the flight and also drink as much as you can). A lot of things went down on that flight, most of which I can’t write about here. But let’s just say that anyone who hadn’t joined the mile high club and wanted to, did; that no one slept; and that I learned a lot of new words (like that I was one of the only “RG”s–real girls–on the flight).

Actually , and I'm not lying here , in Syria , EVERYBODY knows who Adam Lambert is . (the young generation and the old generation who likes pop english songs) And Adam does get played on TV , I see his music videos . I've NEVER seen P2's videos here , nor have I heard of the song , and , you know what ? I only know of him because YOU GUYS talk about him . Nobody knows about him here , in this far far away , third-class country . I've never ever ever heard his song , or seen his name on TV . Everybody knows about Adam Lambert . The Rock God . In fact , you know what ? the Adam Lambert AI season WAS THE ONLY SEASON AIRED HERE ON MBC4 . No seasons after that . Makes you think , eh ? Sorry , but Adam is more of a household name than that guy . Actually , I think that guy is not even WORTH MENTIONING HERE . Let's get back to Adam and his super-mega-stardom . ![]() I live (as you probably know) in the heart of New York City. If not for this place I would've never heard of P2 (as I've stopped paying any attention to AI) or his songs... even after everyone pointing to the Olympics Gymnastics I haven't managed to "catch" it... but of course it is my own "deftness", apparently he is popular somewhere in the US....actually I am sure if I ask about P2 around me I would get the same blank stare as I used to get when I brought up AL. Unfortunately, I think it is extremely unlikely that you would get a blank stare if you asked about P2 anywhere in the US. Internationally, his song is on BBC2 A list and will be released next week. This is what Adam never got in the UK and I'm so insanely jealous that I'll need to go clean the green slime off my glasses. ![]() |

This is on the first page, but I want to repeat it! Adam is getting a top award from the 2nd largest city in our country!! "I love this country!"  Sure is nice to see. He deserves all the recognition coming his way and more! |

Who are 'Birthrighters"? What is the 'mile high' club? I don't get the 'birthrighters' reference. The 'mile high club' is a club for everyone who has had sex at least a mile above sea level. That is everyone who has had sex in a jet plane while flying. |
