In this context, I believe Birthright-ers are people who are free to do anything -- freed of the bondage of society. (The more common definition is someone of Jewish ancestry who does not live in Israel but has a birthright to live there by being born Jewish. I do not think that is what is meant here.) The "mile high" club is people who have had sex in an airplane during a flight -- a mile high. Re: "Birth-righters", the writer of the article about the LifeBall flight described them as "a group of soon-to-be very confused/traumatized Birthright-ers": fashionista.com/2013/05/a-dispatch-from-viennas-life-ball/ Given this description, I think it is more likely that these folks were members of the not-for-profit educational organization that sponsors free ten-day heritage trips to Israel for Jewish young adults. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthright_IsraelIt doesn't seem to me that people who are free from the bondage of society would have been traumatized by the bacchanalia of the LifeBall flight.  Oh you are right!! What a riduculous charter arrangement!! From the article!! YIPES!! I should have read the article more carefully!! At least this would be young adults (18-26 years old) vs. high school kids. All I can say is "oy vey iz mir" |
