I remember a twit from awhile ago...someone suggested Pittsburgh Pride have Adam Lambert and the response was something like...'we'd love to..do you have 500,000?' Anyone else remember that or I am making this thread up as I go along...  It seems like Adam would be paid very well for an hour and a half show. ETA: HAVE FUN ALL WHO ARE GOING TO PITTSBURGH! ![]() I remember this, too, vivlite. I remember being very happy for Adam! |

Adam might be doing the concert for expenses. However, people should not assume that those who perform or work at benefit events donate their time. Even I get paid for playing at fundraising events. It's part of the expense of putting on a benefit event.

Shorty before quitting time at work today (never mind that I didn't leave work for another 3 hours) I gave one of my co-workers a set of QAL London 3 audio CDs derived from the really high quality taper's recording. I had told him they should listen to the CDs on the 500 mile trip he was taking with his family tomorrow. Now, I had given this guy QAL CDs & DVDs before but I don't think he ever listened to them. Because a little while later I get a phone call from him. He had obviously been listen to them in his car on the way home from work.
He says: WOW this guy is GREAT!!! So much range! And is falsetto is fabulous!
I said: YES, he's wonderful!!! But he says he rarely uses falsetto. What you think is falsetto is really his head voice. And he can sing the full range of the Queen catalog.
He says: I want all of his stuff he recorded with Queen!
I said: Unfortunately, there are only fan recordings of the 6 concerts, and what I gave you was the best of them.
He says: I thought he was JUST an Idol contestant.
I said: Well, he has had many years of classical training and 17 years of musical theater before Idol.
YEA, another convert!!! Now to get him hooked on Adam's solo music. First I will give him the remixes because he and his sons are really into the electronic dubstep music. He even mixes that type of music for his own pleasure.

I think you've hooked him! Since he loves remixes and Queen, it reminded me of this Benny Benassi mashup - it may already be on your list of things to share...  ETA: Correction: The mashup is by DJ Digimark which includes the Benassi remix. |

However, Pittsburgh Pride specifically advertised full band and dancers and a 90 minute set. Would seem odd to backtrack from that. I don't think Miami Pride advertised that way. Maybe Adam told everyone to shut up quit talking about anything to do with him. Fandom ninjas are too good. Told No dancers. No backup singers. Full band. |
