Rihannsu, Want to say that I really enjoyed your post. Adam is the first artist that I have every followed (still mystified by this), I was always just a casual fan of others. I loved hearing your take on how his concerts vs one offs compared with U2s. I also liked what you said about expectations as they relate to new music. You gave me interesting food for thought. Thank you. My biggest lesson with expectations came way back in the early 80's when the movie "Dragonslayer" came out. The hype before the movie was all about how fantastic the dragon would look and how you would truly believe in dragons when you saw it. Unfortunately the dragon is barely shown in the movie and mostly in silhouette and I was incredibly disappointed. A few years late I watched the movie again but without the expectation of fantastic believable looking dragons and found it quite entertaining. I learned then to not let all the advertising hype lead me to form expectations and I've been much happier with my movie going experience since then. Doesn't mean I can't still tear holes in things later but I can enjoy the movie in the moment and leave all the analyzing for later. This is especially important for books or comics made in to movies because I see them as totally separate works and can enjoy them as I watch then do the comparisons after the fact. |

I agree jean1010! Rihannsu's post made me feel so much better after having read that Pittsburgh Gazette article. John Moser Jr? The only disappointment I have with the last few concerts is the absence of Kickin In and Pop That Lock - 2 of my favorites. I can't imagine why they have disappeared from his setlist. I guess he has a good reason. ![]() |

WWFM is out of order on this though. So he did get mixed up when he thought Fever was next! Really appreciated! ![]() ). But on the videos you can see and hear Adam so well and close - and - he was perfect!!! Relaxed, happy, dancing, singing, talking... I'm sure he and all members of the band had a great time (loved the interaction between them :D ). |
