Adam is not shy. And the man who I saw in Pittsburgh was self-assured and not insecure in any way. I think he thinks it looks cool. Also, the men I know, tend to grow a beard, then remove it is stages before they get rid of it totally. I think it will be gone. Honestly, it is not so bad in photos -- and I am not particularly anti-Melvin -- but it is hideous live. I hope it is gone before San Diego. JMHO but I really want Adam to take it off!! Q3 do you have any information on RCA record contracts..i,E, Do RCA IDOL artists do an album like every two years.. For Adam would that possibly mean 5 albums over 10 years? If so, he will be 40 if and when he does Broadway..LOL The label has a contract with Adam for X number of studio album options -- probably 5 or 7. The record label has a set period of time to exercise their option (and pay the artist a substantial advance) or the artist is free of the contract. RCA has exercised their option for Adam's third album -- that means Adam got a big check and recording budget. Adam now needs to deliver an acceptable album to the label. When he does, he gets the rest of the advance and we get the album. Honestly, RCA has been great to Adam and they have worked really hard on his behalf, and really supported him. This is a really, really hard business. Harder now than ever. Adam is very lucky to have a major label deal. He is also very lucky to have a deal with RCA/Sony because they have a strong global network. Aside from the suck-y choice of BTIKM as a lead single, RCA has done a good job on promotion. And although I prefered Cuckoo as a single choice from day one, I am now fairly certain that nothing from Trespassing was going to be a big hit single. Just the way it goes. Finally, I am one fan who thinks that releasing his next single in late 2013 or 2014 will be better for Adam because attitudes about gays in America are changing so rapidly and a few month will more he has a better shot of getting airplay. A lot more than half of Adam's sales come from the US and Canada so he needs to be very successful in North America. (Germany, Japan and the UK would be nice too.  ) |

Which is weird considering we have heard him say more than once that he would do it if asked. I can only imagine it gets very tiring getting the same old questions. Especially if you may not know anything or have little control. |

Brad's tweets are contradictory. "mum" to me means he wouldn't say anything. "I haven't been asked", to me, is an answer. So how does Brad come up with he word "mum" We need to see the interview. Actually I don't think the tweets are contradictory. If you look at the first tweet, Brad apparently asked Adam 2 questions: "are you doing Idol?" and "would you" (if asked)? In any event, Adam has said several times now that Idol hasn't approached him yet, so no reason not to believe him. And given that the new executive producer just got hired, he and FOX are probably still trying to sort out what they want to do with the show next season. all true, except the inconsistency with his previous remarks of "where do I sign" type... he was so outspoken about wanting the job... actually, I think that AI management is regrouping majorly and it might take a while for them to decide on the course of action, not only with judges selection, but with the format of the show in the first place...so, at this point I would assume JHUD can be questionable as well... the all alums panel will not happen IMO... It will all work out for Adam - whichever way - the universe is watching out for him! ETA: restless - same thoughts !  |

Hey!
I have a question about the Pittsburgh show. So was Brian doing backup vocals on some of the songs? Was anyone else singing or was what I hearing backing tracks? The band looked especially fine for the show! I did not miss the vajayjays at all.

So much going on in this SLOW period that I don't know what to comment on first. So I'll start with Idol: Since many news outlets have posted over & over that Kelly & JHud are "in talks" I find it pretty odd that Adam Hasn't been approached yet. I can see the wait for the new guy to take over, but if those leaks were true and those two were approached weeks ago....why not Adam? I find that bizarre. My son, who is not a stan, but thinks Adam is the best thing to come out of Idol in all 12 seasons, feels strongly that he should "stay the hell away from it". Direct quote LOL. I'm not sure how I feel about him actually doing the show but I do know that I WANT HIM TO BE ASKED. Different subject - thanks for your recap Q3! Loved reading it! Different subject again - Adam needs to be bi-coastal! Whenever he's in NYC it's a WIN!  |

Especially if you may not know anything or have little control. The confusing thing for me still is he uses quotes for "u kow what I know" so is 'He hasn't been asked,' Brad paraphrasing that reply? Or if Adam said, "I haven't been asked" why didn't Brad use quotes for that? Anyway, seems Adam will be on today's new Insider, so hopefully they actually show Adam's answer. |
