Anybody else having trouble with Proboards again??? Couldn't log on, access any pages as a guest even..forget messages... Don't send me to the Dark Side now..  WHAT IS UP???![]() ETA: Adamrocks...I'm having a hella time with Atop too.  Sorry about the issues but Proboard just made a major change and added CloudFlair. The problem was that morons were attacking the Proboards servers with DNS attacks. From wiki: A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users.
Although the means to carry out, motives for, and targets of a DoS
attack may vary, it generally consists of efforts to temporarily or
indefinitely interrupt or suspend services of a host connected to the Internet.
Perpetrators of DoS attacks typically target sites or services hosted on high-profile web servers such as banks, credit card payment gateways, and even root nameservers.
This technique has now seen extensive use in certain games, used by
server owners, or disgruntled competitors on games such as Minecraft. Increasingly, DoS attacks have also been used as a form of resistance.These are not attacks against ATop but against all the Forums on Proboards. Some of the loading issues are Adam's fault! (You know what we do to sites!!) We think of this as a small forum but it is actually pretty big -- even on a no news day. Pulse Music is a big forum and over 10 years old -- their stats for the past 24 hours: Users Online in the Last 24 Hours 7 Staff, 446 Members, 5,520 Guests. ATop is 1 year 4 months old. Our stats for the past 24 hours (on a very slow day): Users Online in the Last 24 Hours 6 Staff, 188 Members, 3,496 Guests. |
