Comment from someone who was there (from ONTD) in answer to question about why no vids from beginning of song: rctshack 25th-Jun-2013 04:05 pm (UTC)I personally only got the last half as most people probably did because the whole show was just broadway people doing normal pop songs and I think it took a lot of us a second in that huge location to realize who it was and that he was actually singing live and not some broadway dancer/singer lipsyncing to it. Also the song was only about a minute or so long, he didn't do the whole thing if I remember correctly. I feel like someone must have the whole thing. Adam is always putting himself out there. Let's go to NYC to give Charl some love re: his Tony nomination. Ooh, I want to see some plays. Ooh, I want to see some more plays. Everyone says, Adam, you need to stay in town for Broadway Bares. I think I will. Hmmm. Adam is in town, and the boy was outspoken about singers who can sing re: Le Miz. Adam has been doing high profile pride events/benefits. Maybe he would be a nice surprise. Adam attends rehearsal with Charl & other friends. Hey, Adam, want to sing? Only if it fits with the show. by the way, Charl, et. al. say to TPTB, have you heard him belt out the SSB? No, he doesn't need instruments/music, so it would be easy to fit him in. (quick run to Alexander McQueen) The rest is history. I have no doubt this is EXACTLY what happened. I think it may have been a bit more planned. Some of the things Adam did appear to be planned promo appearances -- the premiere, at least one club visit was a paid appearance, and I believe Broadway Bares were planned. Also, most likely, he planned to stay in NY this long. And his management arranged for the theater tickets/visits. >> And I think Adam always goes to Alexander McQueen when he is in NY and can fit it in his schedule. Just my guess.

Is there anything for us to do here? Do we write Adam in? Nothing fits Adam this time.

Since I'm spamming today, I ran across a book by a business writer/researcher, Jonah Berger, called Contagious, that might provide some ideas/strategies for A3. It may be dreck, I haven't read it yet, but since he claims to know how/why things go viral, thought others might be interested as well. Our goal for Adam, yes? I will report back in, probably moongarden, after i read it. www.amazon.com/Contagious-Things-Catch-Jonah-Berger/dp/1451686579/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1372172999&sr=1-4&keywords=contagionback to our joy re:SSB. I read this book (got it out of the library) and thought it was interesting. I found that most of the examples he used of videos that had gone viral, I had seen! Some I probably saw because I hang out here and you guys like to share good things. I did think about Adam and Adamtopia while reading this.

There is no way he didn't do the whole SSB! LOL! It was a surprise performance, did not happen in the early show, and happened before the opening scene. So, I'd say, it just took people a few seconds to realize what was happening! Then the cameras came out!

I was surprised when I learned that he volunteered for Life Ball. I would not be surprised to learn that he volunteered to sing the SSB. ETAThe time on the tweet is 6:14 PM EDT, well before the 1st show.

Obviously I have no idea--you may be right--but here's a second, independent indication that Adam didn't sing the whole thing, from a commenter on the Towelroad story who was presumably there: Maybe they started just playing the music as a sing-a-long or something, and then the surprise was that it stopped and Adam walked out to finish the deal? Anyway, the potentially good news is we may have the whole thing after all.
