I really hate this: bigstory.ap.org/article/gay-marriage-ruling-draws-sober-response-sfSAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal appeals court said Wednesday it will wait at least 25 days before making a decision on whether gay marriages can resume in California. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said backers of Proposition 8 — the state ban on gay marriages — have that long to ask the Supreme court to rehear the case. The San Francisco-based court said it may continue to bar gay marriages even beyond that time if proponents of Prop 8 ask for a rehearing. more... I will confess to not having read the article, but this is not as bad as it might appear on the surface. It is the procedure that petitioners in a Supreme Court ruling have 25 days to appeal the ruling but only VERY rarely will the Supreme Court ALLOW a re-hearing and the Supreme Court justices are the ONLY ones who can give permission.

Love it. PS: I see that Juniemoon has given a better more complete answer to the 25 day delay than me.

Just got home from work and found "DOMA down" So excited I could burst. Watched the vid with Adam singing a change will come with Dr. King and shed happy tears. Just makes me even prouder of Adam for standing tall in the face of adversity and winning over one by one with love.

I've had a very interesting day. Every where I went(nail salon, beauty shop, store) I was asked questions about what is DOMA, Prop 8 and Voting Rights Act and thanks to the smart people on Adamtopia I was able to answer the questions, I think. Didn't realize I had been so vocal in the past that I was expected to know this and be an advocate. atta girl!!!

Sad to hear after epic display of solidarity and support in Texas yesterday, we yet again have a middle aged white guy continuing to push his own agenda for women's reproductive rights.
I have only one response to people who are against either gay marriage and/or abortion: that's just fine, then don't you have one!

Adam has great comedic talent. I have my objective hat on while I'm saying this btw. :D Seriously I hate to see that talent being wasted - I so want everyone to see that, apart from being a superb vocalist, he is FUNNY. He just doesn't take himself too seriously. That's they key I think. I really, really, really love the guy!!! "It might surprise the 'Glamberts,' Adam’s diehard fans, but not all the shows he did in high school were musicals." "Oh my god, he was funny,” Smith recalls with a laugh. “He has great comedic talent, which you haven’t really gotten to see on ‘American Idol.’” Doug Smith (MCHS Drama Teacher) May 18 2009 San Diego News Network www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2009-05-18/things-to-do/adam-lamberts-theater-days-are-fondly-remembered#ixzz1IvPqCwTVYour comment about Adam sent me off on another frustrating search for a source for this particular San Diego News Network article. The SDNN up and disappeared one day and I do not have a copy of this article. In fact, that's the reason I went back and copied as many of the articles as I could find for the bibliography. These things keep disappearing. There is a similar article from May 11 2009, that I was given a source for. Anyone happen to know where I can find a copy of: Adam Lambert's theater days are fondly remembered.American Idol finalist appeared in shows including 'Grease,' 'Peter Pan' by Pat Launer San Diego News Network | May 18 2009 www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2009-05-18/things-to-do/adam-lamberts-theater-days-are-fondly-remembered

I would love to see this!
OT but a Janis Joplin show is heading to Broadway. From Yahoo news:
NEW YORK (AP) — The boozy, bluesy, hot-mama howl of Janis Joplin is heading to Broadway.
Producers said Wednesday that the musical "A Night With Janis Joplin" starring Mary Bridget Davies as the iconic singer will start previews at the Lyceum Theatre on Sept. 20.
The show, written and directed by Randy Johnson, has a live onstage band and features Joplin hits and classic songs such as "Piece of My Heart," ''Mercedes Benz," ''Me and Bobby McGee," ''Ball and Chain" and "Summertime."
The show has already been staged at Portland Center Stage in Oregon; the Cleveland Play House; Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.; the Pasadena Playhouse in California; and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.
Davies, who was raised in Cleveland, first won the role in 2005 after beating 150 actresses. She has appeared in the musical revue "It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues" and another Joplin musical, "Love, Janis." She has toured with Joplin's band, Big Brother & the Holding Company and has released the album "Wanna Feel Somethin.'"
Joplin rose to fame during San Francisco's 1967 "Summer of Love," gaining acclaim when she performed her version of blues singer Big Mama Thornton's "Ball and Chain" at the Monterey International Pop Festival. She died of a heroin overdose in Hollywood in 1970.
