Adam Lambert @adamlambert 24m
Just posted a photo

This happened right in front of me. About 18 hours ago.
If you look back at yesterday's thread - page 26 at the bottom - that's me, with the white head and flailing arms, worshipping the man who first sat RIGHT THERE and then laid down RIGHT THERE as the concert came to an end.
Adam is a master. I think he decided 'What can I do to just reduce this gyrating ol' mom to a puddle of goo?'
Oh, he did it!
All I could do, rest of the evening, was drink mojitos and give out hugs indiscriminately!
The show was insanely magical. Being with dozens and dozens of like-minded, loving, sincerely passionate bumble-bees and more subdued squeelers (me!?) was insanely magical. I will never forget this night! As I dragged my blistered feet and sweaty bum to bed - around 2:30AM - I still floated on the cloud of awe that is Adam Fucking Lambert.
Del Mar is a great fair. Colorful, crispy-fried and clean! I couldn't find my way to the Turf Club for dinner. Someone noticed my sorry self (dressed in dirty clothes after a week on Kauai . . . I know . . . I need to nix the self-pity) and pointed me in the right direction; and, oh boy! I could hear Adam's sound check!!!! I was standing in a line of polite people and dying that I couldn't get to the sight and the sound . . . I didn't care about menus or seating diagrams . . . I just took off! And guess who I found???
Q3!!! Waving as if our weekend in St. Agathe was just yesterday; not almost two years ago. Another photo from yesterday's thread is of a group of us at a table above the port-a-potties, watching (photographing!) Adam on the stage; as he fashioned perfection for what would be in store for us. I swear he sang some of Cream's 'I Feel Free' . . . and I thought we might get that as an encore last night. Look for it to show up one day; it sounded fantastic! Sound check felt like our private concert. Not only did we watch Adam sing; we watched Adam think, create, fine-tune what he wanted to present to US; you and me.
AFL came to the stage on a mission. He took possession of the mic stand; quickly surveyed his kingdom, proclaimed "I got my boots onnnnnnnnnnnn!" and a few thousand of us lost it right there. Body on ground; mind somewhere between drums, guitars, Brian's keyboard, and the voice, hair, eyes, face, shoulders, hands, chest, belt, bulge, THIGHS, and boots of Adam. "A picture says a thousand words" - so I won't lend too many more to the audio & video feasts we're scarfing up today. It's clear the band has become a cohesive, celebratory unit. They are feeling good! I wonder if they find themselves spinning within the spell of this magical man; just like the rest of us. Happiness isn't something you can pretend; and the happiness of everyone on that stage just thundered towards us; much like the waves that tumbled me and humbled me, on Kauai.
I am certain Adam will be, as Paula said, 'iconic'. He is here for the rest of our lives . . . so, start planning, Adamtopians! We will meet again; or we will begin a face-to-face friendship that connects us beyond this internet world. I know I'm very lucky. Here, on the west coast, I've had so many opportunities to see Adam perform. I've seen Adam change in intricate ways; become more brilliant; as if I ever thought a nova could flame brighter. In person, he is regal. On stage, he is raw. Both personas envelop me and yet elude my grasp. I'm amazingly happy, but feeling like a child who's lost the bag of sweets I held so tightly in my fist. I'm off to search again. I can tell you of the sweetness; but I cannot remember the flavor.
A few random thoughts:
Ha - I have no random thoughts! You've seen it all in the videos! Leila was adorable; wish I had seen Eber. He was a few rows behind me, but once AFL was on stage I never turned around to check.
Security said that it was a 'fail' on the part of the stage crew (Adam's crew) that allowed the streaker to make it to Adam.
Adam patted Ashley's butt.
Adam patted Tommy's butt . . . I wondered if Adam would kiss Tommy in "Fever" or "Purple Haze" cuz they were very cute. Oh well!
Peeps were allowed to the back part of the grandstand to see Adam perform for "only $8 at the ticket booth". I don't know how many people took advantage of that, but the place was rocking!
Every time AFL hit one of his classic 'high notes' the place went nuts.
This morning, I took my poster of the aforementioned grandstand sign home with me. Large, carry-on poster. In the terminal, I had many people ask me about Adam! Every single person was complimentary!!! They knew he was a 'home town boy' and wished they had been at the fair last night.
My feeling - - Adam sentiment has turned the corner. Yes, I preach to the choir because we've been here from the start and WE KNOW. But so many others haven't. Well, it's happening now. I can't wait to learn what will unfold tonight.
What do I see differently?
Adam no longer wonders if we will accept/love him. He gets that. He seizes the stage, knowing his art, confident in his art and his exploration. He knows his growth is our growth. Passion is passion.
He's also 'working on his comedy' . . . a song is his and no one compares. His dialogue, banter, is also his (I bet he insisted on this) and is a work in progress. I want him to stay this fresh, this dorky, this genuine. Anyone remember him commenting that he grew up in 'Rancho Penasquitos' - - - also known as 'Rancho Penisquitos' ??!
ILHSFM!!!!
