OK.....Here's the highlights of my Cali trip.   Excuse the ramblings.


Needacoke, Justwishin and I were at the Huntsville, Al airport at 4:30 AM on Friday June 28 and arrived in SD at noon.  Our first stop was at In N Out Burger for lunch.  Needacoke said it was a must.  This was the first time for justwishin and me to visit SD.  Needacoke was a veteran.  We stayed in Old Town for 6 nites.  We did the SD Zoo, had lunch at the gorgeous Hotel Del Coronado, visited La Jolla, attended LAMBERTLUST's party, etc.  We 3, along with sandysva and robininny,  spent about 30 minutes taking pics and admiring Adam's Idol Finale costume at the Hard Rock Hotel. On Sunday nite, we had a Mexican dinner with Grandduchess,  sandysva, Robininny, Didilynn and her friend Susan, Scorpio and her dh.


July 2.....Concert Day ! 

We 3 Bama gurls had a lovely lunch in Del Mar with Sandysva, Robininny, SusieFierce, PFLynne,  Starlyyte, Luv2Laugh, and AliKat, celebrating Luv2Laugh's B'day.  Then it was off to the SD County Fair.  It was our first time meeting the lovely Lynne !  Yay !

After being directed in circles for about 45 minutes, we were finally allowed into the Preferred Parking Lot.   This wasn't your typical county fair venue....heck it would put our Alabama State Fair to shame.  The place was huge and the parking lots even bigger.  Tons and tons of people there.  No sawdust midway here.....upscale paved lanes!  I realize that this is the Del Mar Racecourse so it was very nice. 

After changing into my Adampants in the backseat of the car in the parking lot....we headed inside. Yes, I did that.
Those suckers are really tight...it was quite the struggle. lol.  Needacoke and Virg insisted I wear them.  For some reason my TM ticket scan came up "refunded", Wut? ... so we had to hang around the entrance until all that was settled. Then, we went to Will Call to see about the M&G for justwishin and me...where we were told to come back at 6:15 to get instructions for the 6:30 M&G. Well, that totally messed up dinner. They blamed Adam's management for not getting the stuff to them timely. Needacoke was very understanding and gracious since I was only able to snag 2 M&Gs.

We were able to listen to most of the soundcheck and I saw that Adam had on MY PANTS !  Eeeeee!  I knew he would change before the concert...cuz he just wore them in Pittsburgh, but kinda hoped he'd still have them on for the M&Gs.  Anyway, we ate a quick bite of the dinner and then justwishin and I headed back to the main entrance gate to get our M&G instructions, lanyard and wristbands. It was all rush, rush last minute....We were frazzled.   They only put one lanyard in the packet, thank goodness there were 2 wristbands for entry and nothing was ever said about our free merchandise item they promised. This is my second M&G.....and both times it was confusing, ran late, products weren't on hand, etc. Don't know why these things have to be so stressful.

MY M&G !!!!!!!!!!!.......

The M&G took place outside in the sun and wind...started well after 6:30 and the line was really long.  Security said that he had just finished with a large group of radio winners.  I never got a real total of how many people were there....but a huge number. Looked for Mys*&@^#r, but couldn't find her. Virgo was there....I had met her at LUST's party.    Security told us.."No pictures with our cameras, no autographs, no conversations....yada yada. They said only a prof. photo op. and that was it. They said there were just too many people to get to. We thought about going to the end of the line....thinking that we might have a little more time with him....probably should have done that. I think a couple of people got a single and a pic with a friend.

THE M&Gs WERE 5 SECONDS LONG,..... MAX.    I kid you not.  Mys*&@^#r will attest to it.

My 5 Second M&G might have been a 3 second experience if I hadn't started talking to Adam about 5 ot 6 feet before I reached him. Of course in doing that,  the photographer took my pic before I was "posed".  Then it was "next"...grab your purse, "No stopping ...exit the area".   And I thought my less than 30 sec experience back at the Tabernacle was rushed.  Compared to this.....it was an eternity. 
My pic wasn't very good.....Adam, of course was perfect in each and everybody's pic.    The darn sun was shining in our faces, and I have a bright sun spot on my cheek. Several people had sunshine noses....which looked kinda strange. You'd think a prof. photographer would set up outta the sun.  They handed us a link to view our pics and said they needed to be DLd within the next 12 hours.   ALF has some of them up, don't know what happened to the rest.

Here's what I said......... ( I saw he was looking at MY PANTS)

Me " I have on your pants!"

Adam "You do!  I just took mine off"

Adam "Did you get them in New York?"

Me " I did!"  (kinda/sorta...I got them from NY online)

Me " and I've come from Alabama"

Adam " So glad you did....thank you for coming"

Turn....pic....and exit. 


Justwishin had her own experience...she was next behind me in line.  He held her hand in her pic.  He did that in some and not in some.  Mine was just standard pose.

Then off to my seat for a fantastic concert.  I saw many Atopers on the Floor.  Needacoke sat next to Butterknife who" worked" thruout the whole ocncert.  Luv2Laugh used a prime balcony seat donated by the uber wonderful sandysva to film unobstructed and undisturbed by security.
