Covers are always popular, I'd prefer to see Adam contribute to a "tribute" album of some kind more than a whole album. I know lots of people think covers are a death sentence but if you look at Groban, Buble et al they made their bones with covers which gave them the reputation and respect so their original music was heard - is not a formula that I've seen used in pop music , previously more about American standards, but would be interesting to see if it could work for more contemporary music... if anyone could pull it off suspect Adam could. Groban and Buble are popular with the same audience that bought SuBo. I can't imagine anyone younger than 45 listening to them. Forget about under 35. Going the 80's or 90's or ANYTHING which is not 2014 is a recording artist suicide IMO. I agree there are many other venues for artistic expression and Adam can do them all. But the "recording artist" he will not be after that. YMMV. Nica.. I am a Bubble fans since a decade ago.. that makes me in that age range. I have his TBS concert video and I can see the front rows are young women and couples in early 30 to 45. I actually didn't see them as over 45 or 50yo.

Has Shirley Halperin been pretty accurate before? Did she ask Adam for a comment? Was she at the Trevor Project show? (I thought she was . . . ) Tweet, Adam . . . Shirley used to be, but not recently. And from her quotes, it doesn't sound like she talked to him at all, but has 3rd hand info. Remember the so called quote we all panicked about from the Insider a few weeks ago? Turns out it wasn't even close to what Adam actually said!

Coo.coo.ca.choo, you wondered if we would all flip over the idea if it was Adam's idea. I looked back at the article and it says: "The Hollywood Reporter has gathered some potentially major intel on what could be the follow-up to 2012’s Trespassing. According to sources, Lambert’s label, RCA Records, is pushing for an all-covers album. Specifically from one highly influential decade: the 1980s." Based on this, IF any of it is true (She does say POTENTIALLY major intel...), it is the label that is pushing for an all covers album. Usually I just ignore rumors, but this one pushed my buttons. Now off to work out and get Shirley Halperin's CRAP (TM Mys*&@^#r) out of my head. peace&love I'm not giving her any hits -- didn't read the article -- just asking questions -- I'm on-board if Adam is, if not, well, you know, f**k the PTB.

I'll feel better when we hear something from Adam. He just has seemed so happy after New York where I'm sure he had label meetings. If he is being totally controlled and manipulated by RCA I don't think he would be so happy.

I just say --- I will take this at face value as true -- so what?
Why wouldn't they talk about Adam doing a cover album? And the 80's are a great music decade.
But it is a long way from talking about a concept and doing it.
**
Even if RCA wanted a cover album from Adam (and I am very skeptical they want that because it would be a commercial risk) they cannot make him do anything. They can request, and they can decide to release him if he does not give them something they deem releasable. BUT THEY ALREADY PAID HIM 50% of his advance. They will find some common ground.
**
As for Shirley, she is just not a reliable source on RCA.
Earth to Shirley -- he has been doing "Shout" for over 4 months.
"Everyone" from Idol and most performers do some covers. The Beatles, The Stones etc. did covers. The Ramones covered "Do You Want to Dance", Jesus and Mary Chain "Surfin USA", etc. Nothing wrong with covers.
**
Setting everything aside IF Adam decided to do a cover album, it would be Adamized and I would buy 20 copies. AND if it was filled with great 80's music, I would be joyous and buy 40 copies.
I have no issue with covers as long as they are not karaoke covers.
HOWEVER -- I cannot believe Adam would do an 80's cover album.
