This rumor has ruled my brain all day. I have been wondering if this kind of rumor is usually based on a kernel of truth, or are they made up out of whole cloth. I mean a scenario like this is just so extremely cynical: This site sure needs hits. Glamberts are good for hits especially if the item is negative. I know, I will say that his 3rd album will be 80s covers. I will throw in a "label source" to make it seem official. Those Glamberts are sure to storm this site! I can't imagine anyone with any integrity doing something like that which is why I have trouble completely dismissing these kinds of rumors. Also someone like SH has built up a reputation that would be but in jeopardy if she printed stories without any basis of truth. Since I agreed with what craazyforadam wrote and stated such a few pages back about SH having contacts over the years, my cup is half full in believing there could be a shred of truth to the basic concept, even if the filler is grasping, oh I don't know... as filler. Let's just say for play she really did get a "tip". Sort of a one line heads-up or idea that someone in Adam's camp/label wants to float out there, but nothing more. So... you bring in stuff that may support or relate to the idea as filler. He has done covers on tour, even though she may not stan him like we do as to every detail of this... Anyway, I agree her filler needs work and has some suspect arguments, but I just feel that there could, I say could - not is, a shard of truth to this concept... Adam has had a way of tweeting out a few words in the past for his fans to "get" when he wants to shut down a rumor, but the silence thus far is defining... I find the lack of talking about this album or what is going on to be even odd in fact, and a little to the opposite extreme of last time. He/someone/TPTB/? really have him on lock-down! Not sure why... and if there really is some truth to this I do agree, that it is better to leak it out there so fans/etal can meltdown first, then anything better than an outright 100% generic covers album will seem like good news to many... Adam has himself on lock down regarding the new album. When he has not been allowed to talk about something he has said he can't talk about xxxx. This time he has saying he does not want to talk about the album until the concept is developed. Regarding this "tip", no major label needs to put stuff like this out in the press to find out what fans/the industry/music buyers think, the label has research for that. I used to do it. Perhaps there is an idea to do a retro 80's concept album and it got mangled in the telephone game.

Hey, Q3, I saw you mention your mustache poll earlier. I often have trouble voting in these polls because when I click on the link I just get the results. I'm not sure if it's just me doing something wrong (because my daughter is always amazed at how I can mess up technology) or if other people have the same problem. Not sure how I would have voted in this poll anyhow -- I like both and I like the fact that Adam changes his appearance. The only look I really disliked was Frankengump!
As for 80's music, my 23-year old daughter loves it too.

new to me, so cute.. Few times Adam said he did not like facial hair, how things are changing .. He is always so sweet, smiling and praising other artists. He is our walking happiness..

Hi Q3: RE: "Adam has himself on lock down regarding the new album." It is JMHO that too much of a lock-down is not always a good thing. Going from one extreme to the other... Hopefully he will find the balance. As an old dawg, I have seen time and again how people go from one extreme to the other before finding such balance - guilty of this myself:-) Last I am going to talk about this subject. On a different note: really loved what Greg in Hollywood had to say about Adam about 12:40 www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8uXT6xgsKbo

I just do not think A3 will be 80s covers.

I am not surprised that Adam has not commented on the latest rumors/articles. He has made it clear that he is not going to talk about the project while it is still in development. And, while many fans seem to be upset with the idea of a covers album because they want Adam to make his own music, the response from the press has been positive. I haven't seen any articles alluding to Adam's career being on death's door if he does covers. His name is out there in a positive light for another news cycle, and people learn that he is working on his third album. Seems to be good press to me.
I am looking forward to whatever projects Adam is working on behind the scenes and am mostly content to let him work in private until he is ready to share with his fans. It is exciting to think what he might be up to. Yes, he has seemed to be happy and unworried, but even if there are some challenges behind the scenes, that's life. No one gets a free pass. Adam is 31 years old and has grown and matured and learned a lot over the past four years. He is not fragile. He can cope. These rumors about RCA and a covers album do not need me to go to bat for him or wring my hands. He's got this. IMO. YMMV

I love his voice too.. so much.. but rap, gospel and metal?? don't think so.. 1) Adam cannot do rap and 2) don't think Adam will do gospel either .. LOL.. and 3) metal? Though he probably is listening to metal too, but don't think he's going to make an album of this genre.. IMHO Adamme, I think Vecadam was just listing a smattering of recording styles (note "audio books") meaning that he could pretty much do anything and Vecadam would love it. I don't think this was to be taken literally. She can clarify if she is still logged on. .. I know what she said's not supposed to be taken literally.. for all we care Adam can sing the phone books and we're still going to listen to it.. but I prefer he does video books than the audio books, so I can see his expression when he reads the books..

I am usually good with technology, but I had to look at the poll for at least 10 seconds before realizing there were vaguely outlined checkboxes on the left side of the poll options. I checked the one I liked (shaven!) and the bar grew correspondingly. Of course, it is possible that some browsers have trouble displaying or activating these checkboxes (I use Google Chrome). But I think it is just a design flaw in this case - the outlines are REALLY barely visible... Hope this helps.

Guys.. It's possible that one of the idea for A3 is to have the 80's sounds.. maybe someone mentioned it and some people misunderstand it as to do all 80's covers.. who knows.. the week's not end yet, so I'll just wait and see .... impatiently

Just to clarify, Shirley Halperin has always been a big Adam supporter. I think this is something that has been well established in the fandom. She likes him. Do I understand how this particular article came to be? No. But Shirley likes Adam.
Forget the whole cover album thing, what is unsettling to me is that the label, apparently, does not know what to do with Adam. It is July, and there has been no decision on a direction for album 3.
Yeah, I was shocked that an album of covers might possibly be considered. But, looking from RCA's angle I see where someone might be suggesting it. For the label, it would be "safe," cheap, and a fast Holiday buck. There would be no need to work radio, but he could still do the talk show thing. Maybe they just want something quick and easy to sell as stocking stuffers, and since Adam has no interest in a Christmas album...
