Has Adam done any original songs that one would consider "rock and roll"? Off FYE? Would the music of BFM (forgive me) be considered "rock and roll"? I honestly am a bit confused by this term, especially when someone referred to mumford & sons, P2 and fun as R & R. I honestly need some assistance in figuring out what this means in respect to current music. thank you. For me the most "rock" song on FYE was Master Plan.

The Citizen Vein music (BRM and other bastard albums) was rock music with sucky production. The live performances are much better.
On FYE -- Aftermath, Music Again, MasterPlan are rock. The line between Rock and Pop is grey but Fever is Pop with rock guitars on it. So classified as pop-rock.
Anyway, I think Adam has always be a Rock Star and has a Rock attitude.

Linda Ladden 4evrmomof4 3h 'American Idol': San Francisco tryout draws small, but hearty crowd - ContraCostaTimes.com www.contracostatimes.com/breaking-news/ci_23671448/american-idol-san-francisco-tryout-draws-small-but … < @adamlambert mention an interesting article: SAN FRANCISCO -- A relatively small, but passionate, throng of pop-star wannabes endured long waits and frigid temperatures outside AT&T Park on Tuesday in hopes of landing a coveted spot on Season 13 of "American Idol." Based on numbers alone, their chances of making a solid impression in this early audition session appeared to be much better than in years past. The last time "Idol" made a stop in the Bay Area -- for Season 10 -- long lines snaked around the ballpark and beyond. This time, the crowd was held to only Willie Mays Plaza in front of the park. Meanwhile, behind AT&T, several long rows of metal barricades set up in anticipation of a massive turnout were all for naught. It was yet another sign that much of the luster has come off Fox's venerable reality show. Once, a Nielsen juggernaut that towered over prime time, "Idol" suffered a steep rating decline in Season 12, partially because of a judges panel that lacked chemistry and partially because of the inevitable wear and tear of old age. Now, "Idol" is in transition. Longtime judge Randy Jackson, along with Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, have departed, and the show's top two executive producers have been dismissed. Speculation is swirling over not only who will fill out the new panel, but whether "Idol" has much life left in it. The AT&T crowd, of course, wasn't concerned with any of that. They arrived with hopes of taking the first steps on the path Advertisement
to stardom previously traveled by Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and others. And when cheery host Ryan Seacrest got on a megaphone to ask, "Bay Area, are you ready?!" they responded with boisterous cheers. As you would expect, Seacrest, the last holdout from the original "Idol" crew, is taking an upbeat approach to Season 13. "We're finalizing the panel and I think fans of the show will be excited over what we'll actually end up with," he said during a brief chat with reporters.Seacrest was asked what he thought of reports that the judges' panel may feature one or more contestants from past seasons of the show. "I think it's an interesting idea," he said. "I think it depends on who that former Idol is -- what kind of experience that Idol has had since they've been through the program, what kind of success they've had. All of that is part of the credibility we're looking for."

I was kind of surprised to see how many tickets are available for Adams show on July 19. Not selling very well for such cheap tickets :( Adam's concert was added late and hence didn't get much publicity. For example, The Tribune, the main paper of SLO county, had a fair booklet included a couple of weeks ago which listed all the concerts with pictures and write ups, for the 19th it said to be announced. Also, another problem is that this area leans to country and old iconic groups. It is rural with a large amount of retired people. This coupled with being so close to San Diego in both time and location have undoubtedly hurt sales. As of this weekend it had sold about 1,500 tickets. It is a big venue and can accommodate 10k. I am hoping that lots of fair attenders will join us. In any case, my sister and I are both so looking forward to seeing Adam live for the first time. Thanks for this info Jean - it's really too bad his concert didn't make it into the booklet, that would have helped the promo - we get those for our local fair, that's how I know who's playing. And up here only an hour north of SF, our fair is dominated by country artists also, along with a monster truck show and some kind of rodeo thing - I would be shocked (and ecstatic) if Adam performed up here but I doubt they would book him since he was never played on our main radio station (not even WWFM). I guess I'm relieved to hear that they've sold 1,500 tickets, that's decent for the amount of time, but I know of many people (like me) who have 2 tickets (don't even ask lol). I hope like mys*&@^#r suggested, that people feel like checking it out on Friday night and show up, they will be in for a treat! And WOW that you are seeing him live FOR THE FIRST TIME, so excited for you! Maybe we'll meet, but hope you have a blast.
