I viewed the vid from our site link....well done and fun.....came back to it after reading the thread, and thought I would see how many views it has. I click on ....To view on YouTube.....and it says I need to be over 18, and have to sign in to YouTube. Not so for the Robin T version. Yup!! Many blurred lines..... blurred sexual biases, ( edit)...yah....not blurred at all |

Just an interesting note regarding Blurred Lines and its popularity. I listen to a local independent radio station (one of the few left, I believe) that plays mostly Texas music. To my surprise this morning the DJ started talking about how he discovered this song called "Blurred Lines" during a recent road trip he took and how much he loved it. Then he played a snippet, commenting, "I can't understand a single word they say, but I love it, even though I hate rap. It just sounds so Caribbean."
Realize he wasn't the target demographic but still -- sometimes I think we overanalyze the reasons for a song's popularity. This song has a sound that gets people dancing in their seats, and I wonder how many people listen to the words let alone understand them.

It is a catchy one......an easy groove.....easy on the ears......especially when driving, which is pretty much the only time I listen to the radio. I could not tell you the words other than "blurred lines". Haha edit .....and the words, "I know you want it." I often switch stations when driving and one day I switched several times as I am not keen on rap stuff. Every time I switched, Blurred Lines was playing. As per Boy George....the radio makes you like songs as they play them so often. |
