5 things I would like to see Adam do on my TV

There has been so much speculation about Adam being a judge on Idol, that there has not been a lot of time to discuss what we would like to see him do on TV. So I thought I would put together my own list of what I would like to see Adam do.

1. Host a late night cable talk show with Cathy Griffin. Think about it a minute – this is a show that would have to be on cable!! And yes, singing would be involved.

2. Be my weatherman!! Do the weather on CNN, The Today Show, The Weather Channel, my local news, anywhere! – now that would make me feel better about the winter snow forecast!

3. Replace Adam Levine as a coach on The Voice. And yes, singing would be involved.

4. Play a new senior partner on Suits. This show really does not require great acting but the characters really need to look good in a suit. And Adam as a lawyer is bound to make his Jewish mother proud.

5. Get a recurring cast role on “The Big Bang Theory”. It has better ratings than Idol and Adam would fit right in. (I could not think of a part for him on NCIS.) Like many of the cast members on TBBT, Adam could start with a guest performance which turns into a cast performance. He could play a struggling club singer and fit right in. So, yes, singing would be involved.

The Idol rumor mill came up with another rumor -- Adam Lambert and Katy Perry on on the Idol judges list. It is a small rumor based on a random tweet from someone in Minnesota.

The Internet loves nothing more than a good American Idol judge replacement rumor, so it's no wonder everyone from Adam Lambert to Katy Perry to Nicki Minaj have been pinpointed as possible (possible!) replacements when (and if) Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson leave the show.

Adam, who gained fame on the show in 2009, told British radio station Capital FM he would absolutely love to judge and mentor prospective hopefuls.

"I'm just hearing about this today as well and so what a beautiful rumor," he gushed. "Listen, if — and I say 'if' with a capital I-F — if they were to approach me and if they were to say, 'We want you to be a judge on the show,' I would love that. I would jump at the chance."

So that means we definitely may see our favorite Glambert rubbing elbows with Randy come Season 12.

Katy, on the other hand, wasn't as thrilled with the idea and rejected the yet-to-be-made offer.

“People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it's not right for me yet," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a real commitment to be on one of those shows… I have ideas for two or three big, creative things, and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas.”

So, Katy's out.

Still left on Fox's fantasy short list: Nicki, Fergie, will.i.am and even Miley Cyrus.

Katy made a possible swipe to Paula Abdul when she told THR it's unwise for the network to hire artists who aren't at the peak (or close to the peak) of their careers.

“I find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven't been for a decade or longer,” she said. “Or if they're not even in music. How are you going to give a perspective when you haven't even lived that perspective?”
