Exciting info about Adam's role on Glee. Chris said "joining the show" which is different than "appearing" or "guesting." To me, it speaks of an ongoing role for this season at least. Secondly, Kurt is on NYC, so that means Adam will be in the NYC story line. A good fit. Thirdly, he is Kurt's nemesis. This has great potential. Adam could play a fashion designer who has it in for Kurt. Or, I suppose, a new BFF for Rachel who tries to diss Kurt and push him out of Rachel's life. Or just a sophisticated New Yorker who has disdain for Kurt's sweet innocent little boy character and ends up pushing him to grwo and develop a harder edge. I really don't know much about Glee these days, but a "nemesis" for one of the most loved Glee characters sounds delightful. Sue has always been the nemesis for the Gleeks in high school, so they need someone like that in New York. They need the snark and the conflict to make things interesting. And, like Jane Lynch's character, Adam's could be someone you love to hate. Completely over the top.
The only negative thing I can see is this character would almost certainly have the Melvin in all its glory. It's the equivalent of wearing the black hat in a Western. Let's everyone know who the sinister bad guy is. It sounds like great fun!

On Glee schedule. I'm a bit puzzled that it has been repeated on Atop 'as fact' that the latter part of the season would start in January (with no link attached). I don't remember January mentioned anywhere else. My understanding of the schedule is that the season consists of approx. 22 episodes divided in two. First part to air in the autumn, three episodes then hiatus for three weeks and the rest of the first part in Nov-Dec. (I saw some article saying 'indefinite' hiatus after three episodes but maybe rescheduling and possible delays was what they were implying.) Second part to air in Apr-Jun as Fox has some other show lined up for Jan-Mar. Surely, plans may change and spring is still far away. I would appreciate a link to a source that says January if you have one - maybe I've missed something when catching-up and trying to scroll for the actual news. I think Adam will appear in Nov, after the World Series hiatus in October. Yes, you have the schedule correct.

Edited cuz I found one reliable bit of info from Kevin Reilly, FOX entertainment president: “We’ll have the Cory episode, then we’ll go on hiatus for three weeks for the World Series, and that gives us a natural break to reset.” abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2013/08/glee-to-write-cory-monteiths-character-out-of-show/That would mean the show will return November. Hopefully Adam will be in those episodes.

Thanks mys*&@^#r50 and evamaria! I wouldn't be surprised either if Adam's character appreared on the show already in the first part of the season after the baseball hiatus. I think that the writers are working on the storylines for 'Glee after Finn' and we'll learn more later. As always, I'm ok to wait for more specific news and my main focus is on events that are closer, as Aftee, Avicii, iHeart. It's just that I learned the girls I drove to WAG concert in Helsinki are also big Glee fans and I think I scored some points with the news that Adam will be joining. I'll need to keep up the 'cool' factor if possible.

Nile's Blog Going Back to My Roots Last night I sat in with the band The Roots on the Jimmy Fallon Show. A long time ago, when I first became a professional musician, I worked for Sesame Street, The Apollo Theater house band, and backed up many various types of artists. Today I'm going to finish playing on a song I started with Adam Lambert a few days ago; because I love playing guitar on studio sessions and live gigs. It's like Going Back to My Roots. Miscellaneous photos at the link, including an old one of Nile and Adam in the studio. The caption on it says: Playing on Adam Lambert's session is like going Going Back to My Roots www.nilerodgers.com/blogs/planet-c-in-english/146-wopc-going-back-to-my-roots

‘Glee’ Season 5 Scoop: Adam Lambert’s Villainous Role RevealedAdam will be tangling with Lady Hummel — I mean, Kurt — when ‘Glee’ returns. Just when we thought we couldn’t be any more stoked for Adam Lambert‘s arrival on Glee in its upcoming fifth season, Chris Colfer dropped by Live With Kelly And Michael to give us a major tease. Now, we finally know what the American Idol runner-up will be doing, where we’ll see him — and most importantly, which McKinley High School grad he’ll be butting heads with! “Adam Lambert is joining the show, and he’s going to play my nemesis,” Chris said Aug. 7, while promoting his latest book. “I always wanted to see Kurt be mean.” “Mean” Kurt? OK, we’re sold! News of Adam joining the Glee cast broke July 10, when creator Ryan Murphy tweeted the announcement himself: I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall. Adam immediately echoed Ryan’s sentiments, tweeting, “I’m so excited!!” Link: hollywoodlife.com/2013/08/07/adam-lambert-glee-character-details-season-5/
