As y'all know, I am not a fan of today's top 40 music or much of pop music in general. But driving around today I was listening to an Adult Contemporary station (I forgot my iPod) and heard both Maroon 5/Adam Levine and Bruno Mars. Neither has a voice that is special, and Levine's was auto-tuned to excess, I think for effect? But both sounded just fine for the music they were singing. Their voices fit the style. It dawned on me anew that today's top 40 doesn't need a voice anything near as good as Adam's. In fact, perhaps such a voice sounds a bit "wrong" to listeners of that genre. Maybe too refined? Too pure? Too much resonance? I have no idea what lies in Adam's future, but it may not be as a top 40 superstar hit maker. I hope he never tries to dumb down his voice enough to blend in with the other male superstars of pop music. I hope he finds or invents a genre that makes full use of his incredible voice and he has comfortable and satisfying success with it. His may not be the talent and artistry for the "masses" but if he expresses that talent and artistry to the max I know I will love it. P.S. On the shallow end of the pool, I am so happy to see Adam's face again, sans Melvin! He could "dumb down" just for a few songs aimed at hit radio. Just to get noticed and a kick to the career. But he'd need to find or invent that new genre in addition. :D |

I agree with Roger Taylor on what Adam should do....he should just be a sexy diva and forget about Top 40 Radio. If it happens, great.

Ladymaserati8, and others who might be interested, there is a difference between juice and a smoothie.
Juice may be used for a short cleanse. But in terms of nutrition, juice as a regular part of a diet would not be a good thing. Juice tends to be mostly sugar (ok for short detox or cleanse) but lacking in fiber.
On the other hand, a smoothie retains the fiber of the vegetables and fruits you use, and so provides important nutritional elements.
I believe Adam may have been on a juice cleanse at the beginning of 2012. But I also believe that in recent photos, when you see him with a green drink, it is more than likely a "green smoothie". "Green smoothies" are very big at the moment.
There are two blenders recommended for making smoothies: the Vitamix and the Blendtec. Both are expensive. I was able to buy a $550 Blendtec for about $350 a few months ago when they were featured at Costco.
There are many recipes for making green smoothies, and you can throw in whatever you like. I normally use lo-cal apple juice, some banana,
a cup of spinach or kale, protein powder, flaxseed, some frozen pineapple, some ice cubes, and a dash of stevia for sweetening if I used kale.
I sometimes use a frozen cherry/strawberry mix instead of pineapple, but then the smoothie is pink, not green.
Since I began drinking these smoothies, my blood pressure has gone down to the point that my doctor may take me off my meds. Also my skin has more of a glow.

I don't understand all the rejoicing that melvin is gone. He was still beautiful with melvin. The only way I could understand it is if people hated it as much as I hated frankengump. I seriously winced whenever I saw that.
To me, melvin just added to his studliness. All that yummy facial hair might have made a person (not me you understand) want to rub up in all that soft fuzziness. heh.
I love Josh Groban but Adam is not Josh and vice-versa. No PBS special for Adam - not now. Adam is a sexy diva and he knows it. YES!!!
