I use Kale in my smoothie every morning. I buy several bunches, wash, and remove from the thick middle stalk. Then I put it in a big container and freeze it. In the morning, I take a hunk of the kale (which is brittle from being frozen) and blend it with a banana, some frozen blueberries, mango nectar, almond milk, green powder, protein powder, chocolate super food powder, psylium powder, and a bit of water. It blends right up in my $30 blender! Drink immediately if you put psylium in as it thickens quickly. Super easy breakfast. I keep the bananas in the freezer too, so nothing spoils quickly and I can stock up once every two weeks or so! I still use my old blender which was a wedding gift in 1981...haha! I'm going to try this!! Thanks! adamrocks....methinks your brother isn't open to anything "Adam". Frustrating but I wouldn't waste anymore energy.

I think everyone should put their smoothie recipes in our recipe thread so we have them all in one place for easy access! (and sorry... I'm not sure where the recipe thread is)

OT but I wanted to update my Adam vs George Jones songs with my brother. Well....that didn't go to well.lol I was disappointed and surprised in the way my brother approached Adam and his songs. I just listen to the George Jones songs and made my comments. My brother, on the other hand, brought in all this other stuff about Adam that had absolutely NOTHING to do with listening to the songs. So disappointed in my brother's attitude. Oh! Well...Q3 said my brother probably wouldn't like my songs. His loss...not mind. But his close mindedness surprised me. Nevermind my darling... you can rest easy knowing who got all the brains in your family.

Yet, with this mix, it doesn't taste "green" although it is very green especially with the green powder. Tastes neutral to good, fast, super easy clean-up (just rinse blender), I get all the powders from Amazon. I used to have toast for breakfast so this is a huge improvement. Plus, Psyllium is God's gift to my digestion. Seriously, I would give up all my other favorite foods if I had too, but you are not getting my Psyllium.

I keep the bananas in the freezer too, so nothing spoils quickly and I can stock up once every two weeks or so! Yum! Can you show up every morning; say, around 7AM?? I, too, just use a regular 'blender' that cost me around $100. 'Puree' means the blades just spin quicker; like, madly! My recipe is very simple. I fiercely cook a bag of spinach and a bunch of kale (leaves torn from the fibrous stalk) about 3 minutes in about a tablespoon of water on the stovetop. After my little greens have cooked down I put them in the blender with either of two combos: - For sweet, add banana and an apple or two, blueberries, and any fruits/berries you have on hand (not melon) and maybe add a bit of honey to taste. - For salty/veggie (my favorite!) add cooked beets (which, by the way, can be part of the sweet recipe above) and garlic - and anything that might be in the fridge - a torpedo onion, cucumber, celery (not too much), cooked sweet potato and/or zucchini. Avocado, anyone?? The treat in these 'smoothies' is that we're getting so many good nutrients; and they are tasty! I process everything in a very basic blender, using 'puree'. My mixtures thicken in the refrigerator, so after a day I add V8 juice or white cranberry juice. A bunch of kale and a bag of spinach - the 'base' for all of this - makes enough for two big containers, which I take to work and sip on for hours. Two days; that's the life of this freshness for me. It works! But hey - I'm still not seeing svelte. Rats!

TALCvids @talcvids 3m Great insights from Nile Rodgers >>RT @all4eastend: Music Greats Come Together, All For the East End fb.me/2LNoH4BCd On Monday, some of the biggest names in the music business will gather in Riverhead for one of the largest concert events the East End has ever seen — all in the name of lending a hand to local charities. Nile Rodgers and Chic will be joined by guests Adam Lambert, Chromeo, Russell Peters, Mystery Skull, Prince Paul and Swedish star Avicii as Bridgehampton National Band presents a dance party to benefit All for the East End, an organization raising funds for local charities, at Martha Clara Vineyards on Sound Avenue. The AFTEE Nile Rodgers Dance party begins at 5 p.m. with Prince Paul and will roll out an array of big names. The AFTEE event, Rodger said, will be the “greatest dance party the East End of Long Island has ever seen. Dance music unites, dance music is happy, and the Nile Rodgers Dance Party will bring all ages to the dance floor.” Rodgers, who founded the band Chic, brought the world hits such as "We Are Family," "Good Times," "Le Freak," "Greatest Dancer," "I'm Coming Out," and "Like a Virgin," and has produced hits for Madonna, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Diana Ross. And, he has co-written and plays his Fender “The Hitmaker” on the new Daft Punk hit “Get Lucky,” which has broken records and gone to Number One in 73 countris.......

We seem to have a damaged proboards patient again. From page 17 (which has only 4 posts), you cannot get to 18 anymore, but if you go back to 16, then you can see that page 18 exists and jump there.
So, playing hop-scotch or something will hopefully eventually allow you to visit all pages and posts.
