We may be off topic, Adam-wise, but like I noted, costco.com does offer the $550 Blendtec for about $400. When I got it, it was on sale for $350. Costco also has a Vitamix in stores and online for about $350. Everything I read (or the blender videos I watched on youtube) rated the Vitamix and Blendtec almost equally. The advantage of the Blendtec is that it fit on my kitchen counter under the cabinets, while the Vitamix did not. Heathcliff -- I knew you were a man of taste and distinction!! I have a Blendtec with two different size blender bodies/blades -- the narrow one is good for drinks and sauces and mayonnaise/salad dressings. The wide body is best for pureeing chunks of stuff. The commercial model is available for the about the same price. I have one base, and a few blender bodies -- so I can make 4 sauces for a dinner and keep them in the blenders. New thread is up!! (And I am sitting watching "Will It Blend?" videos on YouTube rather than sleeping!!!) But then I stumbled on "Titanium" and actually listened to it for the first time in a while. It really is one of my fav Idol performances. (Is he singing with anyone? I did not notice!!  ) |
