In other words, keep paying attention so you can give me free pr and site clicks to further my business model. What terrible messaging! There is no chance of a third single before the album release so why send this? And "All those Adam Lambert Fan's"? "those"?? If they wanted to send a message like this, just thank @adamlambert fans for their support and promo the release of LMD on the album on Sept 19th (or whatever). Or mention the upcoming performance this week. Must be run by an amateur. Finally, this is not Marketing, this is a communications error. Thankfully, it will be forgotten in a day but the relationship damage will live on. ETA: But his account has no apparent OFFICIAL connection to AVICII. It is clearly run by a fan, and I think it is no actually OFFICIAL. Unless I missed it, AVICII does not follow this account. It's a fan site. The album will be out in a month and we can then DL the track. I am sure that is what they meant |

We are worried about an Avicii fan account and a potential inhalation of smoke when we have this?!?!? Are there any clues about who Adam is recording with? Where are are LA Ninjas? I bet if he was in Shanghai we would have video!! My status is....  ETA: I just read this....and my status changed to..... [ ] Gale Chester Whittington passed away on August 12, 2013 at his home at the age of 67 no services are planned. My <3 is<//3 I am deeply saddened by the loss of Gale + thankful for his tireless work for @adamlambert fans and Fanclub #RIPGaleChester |

Marketing is necessary for every artist, product, service etc. - it's a business for them. That's how they become 'known' and how people who are interested find them. Naturally, all marketing costs are added to the price, big campaigns are expensive - but using social media is cheap and fans are doing it for free right here on Atop. And you are here getting it all free. We're living in the era of internet and social media and fans and followers are an asset. A website can be used to generate income via clicks if there are ads. There are twitter ads already (ad accounts that send @ replies based on some search criteria) and more will come. Reading twitter messages by an individual doesn't in itself generate any business or advertisement income to my knowledge. Some form of 'ads included' accounts will certainly be created in the future (just like most of blogs). I think this account is a fan account that uses the word 'official', the host is collecting info and passing it on and the tweets are his findings and his opinions/perceptions/reactions. About a month ago when this account emerged for me due to posting about Adam and LMD, the header said he's a fan but the text is different now. Avicii has a verified twitter account and a verified FB page which are much more 'official'. I click each and every Adam news link in order to give them clicks that they need to operate and in the hope that they keep writing about Adam. They need it and I think that no article or post should be copied f.ex. here in its entirety, people really should click to read it all. It doesn't cost you if you click. ...And I will keep paying attention to Avicii and following the success of his album (where Adam has a song). I wouldn't mind at all if the work of fans would be compensated in some way. Many fans do an excellent job and I can get a lot of info that way. I would be happy to give 'free pr and clicks'. Why wouldn't you? My opinion is different. I copy articles to preserve them because nothing on the web seems to be permanent. That fabulous 4 part Ultimate Interview from August of 2009 is no longer online from the original source. Just yesterday I found that two reviews of Adam's St Jean Balloon Fest concert had disappeared. I was very happy to find them copied by someone on another fan site. I encourage everyone to make a practice of visiting the original source, though, for obvious reasons. Just for my own info, is it difficult to click through to other site from ATop posts, if you're using your phone or a tablet?? I don't use either and I've been wondering whether we/I need to make some adjustments to make posts more user friendly for the new technology. |

Guys, I don't know anything about anything, and this is very sad news indeed if true, but I'm confused. The post says he died on Aug. 12th, and yet he last tweeted 8 hours ago: twitter.com/galechesterCould it be some misunderstanding? I sure hope so! |
