Hot off the presses comes yet another report about the ever-changing American Idol judges' panel. In their eternal search for the perfect judge to stop hemorrhaging ratings, another name has been tossed into the ring (no, Paula Abdul isn't coming back) Dr. Luke, producer extraordinaire, could be joining the show. The Good Doctor, Us Weekly reports, is being considered after negotiations with Will.i.am fell apart over a salary disagreement.

If you don't immediately recognize the name Dr. Luke, perhaps it's because he's not covered by your insurance plan. But just know that he's behind most of the hit songs you've danced to in your car in the past couple years. Between "Since U Been Gone," "Girlfriend," "I Kissed a Girl," "Party in the U.S.A.," "Tik Tok," "Till The World Ends" and "Roar," Dr. Luke is the reason for Spotify's private session. Dr. Luke (real name Łukasz Gottwald) got his start at Saturday Night Live, where he was the show's lead guitarist for 10 years. Since leaving, he's produced a total of 21 Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 singles. Luke, who essentially created Ke$ha, clearly knows how to pick out a future superstar.

If he's signed to the show, Dr. Luke would join Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez, who will be returning to the show for a third season.
