Bringing this over from end of yesterday's thread where people were looking for EMA videos: "If you are looking for EMAs there is one on vimeo that has never been blocked: vimeo.com/40380933This performance still gives me goosebumps and warm fuzzy feelings after what has got to be hundreds of viewings and audio plays on my mp3 player. I used listen to it over and over on my hour commute to work until I had the summer Queen + AL concerts to play over and over. What joy AL has given me and I will always be thankful and happy to be a fan.

Last week was a Prague Pride Parade with NOH8 event in Prague, the Czech Republic. And Czech Glamberts were there! Some pics from the event: Prague Pride 2013I just want to tell you that I loved the Czech Republic when I visited 4 years ago. Not just Prague but towns like the delightful Cesky Krumluv! Lovely! I just noticed that the first episode of Glee is the day I leave for a trip to Sicily. So I will miss the first 2 shows. Thank you JazzRocks! I just returned from visit of Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Kutna Hora on Thursday - my friends from the US were here in the CR for a few days and I showed them these places. They loved them all, it made me happy.

Hey, I think it will also be worth it to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis perform "Same Love", such an important song and moment for equal rights for all.

Now that I am forced to pay attention to VMAs herer is some VMA info : www.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/arts/television/mtv-brings-its-video-music-awards-to-new-territory.html?_r=0Brooklyn, with its reputation for nurturing rap and indie music, may not seem like the most obvious place to hold the Video Music Awards — with its emphasis on pop stars like Katy Perry and Bruno Mars. But when MTV executives chose to stage the awards program at Barclays Center this year, they decided to give it a Brooklyn vibe. So, perhaps inevitably, the V.M.A.s, to be broadcast at 9 p.m. on Sunday, will showcase the work of a famous Williamsburg artist, as well as brownstones and young Brooklynites. “You are going to get a taste of Brooklyn throughout the show,” said Stephen Friedman, president of MTV. The red carpet the celebrities will tread will be on a neighborhood street behind the arena, where faded brownstones, modest storefronts, a corner bodega and a city playground are the backdrop. The design for the show picks up the black and white colors of the Brooklyn Nets, who call the arena home, and echoes the matte, urban look of Barclays Center itself, with its whooshing facade of rusted steel. The Moonman award statue has been redesigned by the Brooklyn artist KAWS and will be the central motif of the evening: a 60-foot-tall version will stand in the middle of the arena. Short films featuring Brooklyn scenes, characters and themes will be shown on the gigantic television screens above the floor during the show. MTV has sent casting agents out to find hundreds of young Brooklynites — from Williamsburg hipsters to hip-hop b-boys — to make up much of the crowd standing (and, producers hope, dancing) on the floor at the foot of main stage. This is the first time the awards show has been held in Brooklyn, and Barclays Center, which opened last September, is a very different environment from Radio City Music Hall, where it has always been held when the show is in New York, most recently in 2009. MTV executives said their decision had less to do with wanting to tie MTV’s image to Brooklyn in a marketing sense than with a desire to do something new. “Reinvention is our mantra,” Mr. Friedman said. “The fact that we have never done it in Brooklyn, that no one has done a global show in Brooklyn, made it an obvious choice for us.” It helped that many of the network executives live in the borough or have roots there. David Sirulnick, a Brooklyn native who is an executive producer for the show, said, “This is one of the few arenas actually in a neighborhood. It’s not going to be a red carpet show during which you can’t tell where it is.” more...

I remember being so nervous with anticipation that night ( the EMA), pacing all over the apartment. DH and kids got the clear instructions not to change the channel from MTV under a death threat and they were all quiet, knowing that this would be a very wrong time to mess with mama. But when it started, he sat with me to watch. It felt kind of nice, supportive... And then my best friend texted me the simple "We're watching", meaning her and her family, I was flabbergasted, it felt really good:) The moment I saw his silhouette, I forgot about them all and from then on, it was just between me and what was going on. It was the first time I saw him performing live on my television, I was sooo nervous! Needlessly so, because the performance was epic, everyone agreed on that. It was, as I recall, declared the best performance of the night by almost everyone, if not everyone. I haven't stopped wishing to see him on my TV since then:)
My 'hobby' is generally frowned upon, but I'm not having any of that, let me tell you:) The first time my DH hinted that I was neglecting my duties for Adam, which is a heinous lie!!!, I stopped ironing his clothes for a month. The second hint, a few months later - I stopped making his favourite food for a month. Suffice it to say, it has never happened again. I think he caught on my vilely progression and realised what he would be living without for a month if he dared make that hint again:)))
That's me being all feisty on the outside. Inside, I realise why he might be upset. A few days ago, I read all my writings on Adam for the first time, all in one go, without trying to catch mistakes and obsess over them, and I was shocked! It was too much; it felt like someone spilled a bottle of perfume on my head, heady and opulent and overwhelming... Intense. I almost deleted the whole thing, all of it was just two clicks away from being gone, but then I remembered the OOFTA. Namely, I think there is a reason why people want to treasure some moments forever - it is because they are so rare and special and beautiful, that not even time slowly turning them into memories can take that beauty away.
So, each time I see OOFTA, I smile:)
