Jumping on to the 'Red Carpet' to say hello from the dusty carpet of the Playa at Burning Man. This home feels more wondering and welcome than ever; accepting of my raw, sad heart, and already bringing healing. Tomorrow at dawn, we will take Zipper's little blanket, the tennis ball we found under the back deck, her red brush, and the last photo of her - taken on Wednesday; her feet touching the soft grass out back - to the Temple, where we will give these mementos to the Universe. Along with them will be the little song my son wrote and used to sing to her. She knew. Blind and deaf, she knew. She knew we were going to have to put her to sleep on Friday. I know she understood how I feared this ending. So,instead she gave me one last gift. At 4:05 on Friday morning I caressed her neck and her ears, and asked her to 'be my running girl and go running!'. And, minutes later, she did. She ran to the sky, through my heart, and into the wild woods of my soul. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I must send a special message of gratitude to Adamrocks - my rock. Internet from Emergency Station 9 is sporadic - as is the power from our generator. Please know, though, that the power of caring, sharing, and loving friendship that shines from Adamtopia reaches me, and makes me better. {{HUGS}} to you, Momtomany. ![]() |
