I don't know about Adam playing Freddie. I totally think he could, but mmmm.... no. Why go there? ![]() It would be lovely if Adam would just be Adam. Which he is. Which he will. |

I think Adam is multi-talented and there are many movie roles I would love to see him in. Just not Freddie Mercury. Adam is a much better looking guy than Freddie. Much more classically defined. It's more than just the teeth. So, would they try to make Adam up to look less striking? Don't want to see that. Or would they portray Freddie is classically handsome? Doing the latter changes his life story significantly.
Then, there's the voice. I don't know why people compare Adam and Freddie vocally. They sound very different. Adam has a classically trained, refined voice. It has such purity and resonance. When he sings, it never sounds pushed or strained or full of tension. Freddie is great as a frontman for a rock band, but I wouldn't say his voice was refined, pure, or resonant. It sometimes sounds quite pushed and tense. His pitch is more inconsistent. He just didn't have the technique to sing like Adam does. Could Adam imitate his sound and style? Probably. But, if the producers want Freddie's sound, it would be much better to dub in the original. The other option, to have Adam sing like Adam rather than Freddie, again, changes the basic character of Freddie. Freddie WANTED to be able to sing opera, but he couldn't. Adam can.
Casting Adam as Freddie the producers either have to sweeten up, beautify and refine Freddie to match Adam's classic look and sound, or they have to transform Adam into a very different person. Even if Adam COULD do it, I am not sure why he would want to, or why the producers would pick someone so radically different from Freddie.
IMHO. YMMV

They are killing badgers in the UK. Brian is trying to stop it and has been since forever. Why? I gather it has something to do with cows.. honestly.. and I am a farm girl ?!? ( I am a farm girl ) It is a "traditional" hunting sport in the UK. From Wiki... This is actually an old, old picture. It has been around for ages. There is also a video clip of this. Timegoesby found the play and told me about it. (Adam is listed in the cast as Buster, a forest ranger.) She was convinced from the beginning that Adam was second from the right. Lol It was, indeed, the rib cage that finally convinced me. When we posted the find, I think it was Q3 that was very excited because she had seen the play. I must have been absent the day a video link was posted. If you still have the vid link, I'll add it to Pre Idol. Although I once lived in Glendale and I attended the grand reopening of the Alex. A beautiful theater -- one of the old atmospheric movie houses. And the restoration was very well done. |
