You do not need to reveal the date -- just check the box on your profile. I don't even know what "check the box on your profile" means. When I logged in just now, for the very first time proboards was demanding my birth date. I thought Oh, for fuck's sake, and hit 2013 as my birth year. Then I got a message saying "Nobody can log in if you're under 13 years of age."   So I finally typed in 1900 for my birth year. My relationship with proboards is starting to feel eerily similar to my relationship with fuckitbucket. |

Aaahh... Such great memories. Did the idols have access to the internet back during S8? I'm wondering if they knew Adam was getting tons of buzz. I bet they were surprised he didn't win, considering all the evidence that he seemed to be the most popular with the judges and fans, and possibly media if they got to have access to internet. Even Kris was surprised Adam didn't win. I don't believe there were any comments about how Adam was so gracious towards Kris and seemed thrilled for him that he won.

Check the box under your user name on the login screen that says REMEMBER ME. And you will not be asked for your birthday again. *** Separate from that, you control what access people have to your birthday. Then on your PROFILE on Adamtopia you can control how your birthday appears -- select EDIT PROFILE then click on PRIVACY -- go to the Birthday Visibility section and select what you want to have on your public profile -- - Nothing - select HIDE BIRTHDAY
- Just the month and day
- Show full birthday

which brings me to another matter re age: I tried to log in here just now and the Proboards INSISTED that I specify a "valid" birthday date... I feel it to be overly invasive, they could've asked if I am over 18 or whatever they need... there is no way I would put in my real full BD on a public forum.... Same thing happened to me yesterday. I entered a totally bogus date. I couldn't log on without it. ![]() </img> Yea, at least it gave me a chance to change my birthday from New Years to Christmas, neither of which are correct, but there are just too many New Years birthdays at Atop. |

I think they did have access to the internet. I remember Adam saying in one of the interviews that he was doing his "research" on-line. Was it the Larry King interview? not sure... Also, who better than other contestants knew who is the "fairest of them all"? Carver's reaction to hearing Adam in Hollywood rounds was "why this year"? or something like that... so, he knew from the beginning who the top dog was  ..nostalgia... |

The Idol producers and I think the judges knew Adam was at risk. Simon even said something to the effect after Adam did Ring of Fire. Adam fans were wrapped up in their love of him and many (looking in the mirror) did not realize that Adam fans were not organized to vote and get other people to vote for him. In the meantime, Kris had support among the core Idol audience who knew how to get the votes in, and he had some superfans who put together KrisAllenNation.com with a primary mission to get out the vote. The Adam fans learned how to vote and be organized after Idol. Actually, Adam got lot of credit for how gracious he was to Kris online and in the press. |
