Q3, YMM is a single released to iTunes in Canada, and it (with its own cover art and the track identified as a " single") is charting somewhere in the top 15 dance singles in iTunes Canada, at least a few hours ago. (I can't check right now, my iTunes is all messed up, like a few other Canucks posted earlier today!) Eta: I'm only referring to the statement that YMM was not released as a single in North America. Maybe you mean just the US? Eta 2; YMM single #11 on dance cdn itunes, YMM album track #14, LMD album track #9 I meant released to radio and being promoted. It is not being promoted in Canada or the US. Yes, the track is and has been for sale. Hard to figure out what a single is anymore -- so sorry for a confusing post. When a song is released as a digital single in Europe, the label with almost always make it available in the US and Canada even if it is not being promoted because they can get some sales from hit in North America. If they do not release, fans who are willing to pay for the track will steal it from other countries.

Adam said repeatedly that he didn't know anything about his part on Glee, and hadn't seen a script. I believe him..... But I also firmly believe that he talked to Ryan Murphy et al about what kind of part he felt comfortable doing and what kind of part he would NOT do. It would be foolish not to have such a discussion before agreeing to appear on the program. Didn't we hear that he had turned down Saturday NightLive because he objected to the script idea?
Ryan is a smart guy. I just don't see him writing a part as a drag queen for any cast member without first running the idea past them. If he proposed it to Adam I just don't see Adam agreeing. For many reasons.
So, does it seem that Adam will start filming Glee this coming week? OOooo, that is exciting!

They are looking at only the US iTunes rankings as of today for the tracks. You Make Me is on iTunes as a single, Q3. It was released the last week of August, August 30th, to be exact. It just has not gone to radio. It got as high as #7 on Dance tunes then VERY quickly dropped down and has not been in the Top 200 since. But it is just not a fair comparison. And who knows the total for YMM anyway -- it is split. In the US right now --- YMM has 4 pop bars --- 3 on the album track and 1 for the single. Sales are split. LMD has 3 pop bars. I think even in the US, YMM is currently outselling LMD when combined. But I do not know what this means anyway. Do I think LMD could be a bigger seller than YMM if promoted as a single? Yes. But the US does not need a new single because WMU is in the Top 10. Do I think the rank of the tracks in the US means that YMM was a bad choice for single #2? No -- makes no sense. For a global artist like Avicii, they have to think about the whole world, not be US-centric. Anyway, most label execs would not burn a great song in Europe when it is too soon for a new single in the US and Canada -- WMU has not yet peaked in North America? Why not use an OK track and save HB, ATL and LMD for later in the sales campaign? Better choice is to do an infill single, sync the global markets and release single #3 worldwide. So here is hoping that LMD beats out the other contenders -- which look like HB and ATL. Finally, YMM is doing OK across Europe right now. And that is what they wanted -- they wanted a second track where WMU had peaked. So they release TRUE with a single doing OK to excellently in the big markets....so here is what they have and it is beautiful!! United Kingdom You Make Me #4 #27 WMU #8 and #36 Germany You Make Me #40 #55 WMU #170 US WMU #5/7 (dropping slightly since the album release) Currently at #7. Canada WMU #5/7 (dropping slightly since the album release) Currently at #6. But none of that is what the original poster was referring to! LOL! They were just talking about how the tracks were selling today, after the release of True, and LMD was higher that YMM. Today!!! OFC, no single should be released to radio in the US now. WMU has a good 4 weeks at least before it peaks in Top 40. It is charting, right now, in 5 formats!

I'm so glad we're done with that rumor. I never really thought it could be true but it's nice we're done with it.

OFC, no single should be released to radio in the US now. WMU has a good 4 weeks at least before it peaks in Top 40. It is charting, right now, in 5 formats! I cut out my long post --- Yes, WMU still is heading up....and the bullet is +155. 8 = AVICII Wake Me Up 10223 +300 1690 +155 71.217 +1.648 5 And mostly I think we agree. The original comment from Twitter was the LMD should have been single #2 instead of YMM because it is doing better on iTunes. But it is not "doing better on iTunes". So first she is only looking at the US and Avicii is a global artist with a global single strategy. And the you have to combine the two YMM tracks sales and we do not know what they are. And you compare chart placement from a month ago to chart placement today. Chart placements are relative, not absolute. And the big point that I believe we agree on -- it makes no sense to burn LMD as an infill single anyway. And YMM is an infill single with no promo budget in the US -- at least not yet. So, on the big point, LMD deserves to be a global, not regionally promoted single, I think we agree.
