Yes all of the Top of The Pops type appearances of the 70s were lip synched. The band HATED to actually be on TOTP and those shows due to that fact. It was a very rare occasion that the band had to lip synch due to technical issues or TV issues or whatever. But there are a few of them...

Don't really know anyone in "Fun". I still wish it would have been Freddie. BUT -- as far as songs I would love Adam to be able to belt out Who Wants To Live Forever and The Show Must Go On. Adam is going to be so amazing! So excited.

It's actually more complicated than you think! I've heard interviews from more than one band that covered it and afterwards they said they had no idea how hard the song was and that the fact that Queen made it sound so simple was certainly a part of their charm...and then there's the surprising fact that the band never performed the song fully. Ever. They only did it as part of a medley! I agree, this is not easy to sing at all. Lots of jumps, range, and no good way to hide either a break in the voice or to not loose the fluidity of the singing while changing between head/chest/falsetto voice. See this video, for example, to prove that point. He is certainly a good singer, but he has to fight for a lot of the notes and looses the rhythm and flow in the process. And he certainly does not have the playful ease of Queen. Given that he accompanies himself on the guitar, he is able to adjust, but that is not going to work live with a band. This singer sings the correct notes (kind of, he is flat on some of them too, but that is not the main problem with his performance), but that sure is a long way away from Freddie, who playfully and skillfully does something that many trained singers cannot imitate. And the only singer that I know who could cover the technicality of this song with ease, is Adam. Add to that, that he would content wise own the song, and has the swing and playfulness needed for such a song, it would be a real treat to hear him sing it. === Try finding good covers on youtube for KQ. There is a reason there are not many good ones there. Btw, OT for Adam, but its KQ. While looking around whether some good KQ covers had been posted, I fell over this guitar solo, and thought this is some incredibly talented and versatile guitar player. And given that the camera is focused on his playing, you can see the complexity of what he is playing, besides hearing it, and it makes you appreciate the sophistication of this 'little song'. Enjoy! ETA: Added that first video, as an example, how singing this song can be a challenge.

No matter what the song choices will be the performance will be killer -- they're closing the Friday night show! I don't think they'll pick sounds that focus on one member or the other -- they are all about pleasing the audience and this is not necessarily a Queen audience. So, I figure the set will be fast paced with a lot of audience participation so that everyone will leave with Queen's performance in their heads. For Adam fans, the fact that Hammersmith's set list is being somewhat duplicated was expected in my mind. Just a few months ago there were ALOT of people who didn't even know that Adam had performed with Queen (especially Stateside). And, there will be those that will be interested in Adam singing but will probs be put off if the focus were to be only on him. It will be a great show and only redundant to those of us that have every breath from Hammersmith memorized.

I think I saw suggestions for KP to cover this... I can only say this: THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL SHE CAN PULL THIS OFF. NONE. As Craazy said: "Lots of jumps, range, and no good way to hide either a break in the voice or to not loose the fluidity of the singing while changing between head/chest/falsetto voice." I guess I need to look up FUN dudes now... Or, may be I'll wait till after the 20th and see if I like what I hear... in general - I really don't care what they all sing, just the fact that Queenbert is performing is so AWESOME!!!!

I honestly don't think she'd handle it that well myself but I thought that it had a strong chance of happening... 1. Katy is a HUGE fan of Queen 2. Brian is a fan/friend of Katy 3. Katy releasing a perfume called Killer Queen. 4. Brian is a whore. (I mean this will all due respect and love ) But as long as schedules align and there is time to get a quick rehearsal in, I don't know if Brian would refuse to work with anyone, lol...
