I had to look up Nate Ruess and fun. I like their songs, and Nate has a high range. Is there any possibility that Nate will or can outsing Adam? Puleeez. Check out the two singing the same Queen song.
Such a difference in their voices. Can you hear it? Do you hear the difference in the tone in terms of richness, fullness, ring and vibrato? Do you hear how one sounds like they are pushing out the notes and the other sounds like the notes just flow out without effort? Do you notice how one has pitch problems and the other is spot on? Can you hear how one articulates the words so they are understood? Do you notice that one seems to emphasize the meaning of the lyrics?
I have to believe, want to believe, that people in the audience hearing Nate and Adam will notice the difference between the singers, and Adam's impressive voice will be moreso in juxtaposition with another singer. "This guy's a good singer." "Oh, wait a minute. Wow! THIS guy's amazing! Whew!" If they do not notice or comprehend what they are hearing, they will never "get" Adam no matter what. IMO.

I think this will be a great set. I think Queen has been wonderful to and for Adam. And I sure hope no Adam fans are lambasting Queen on twitter and making Adam indirectly and us directly sound like entitled ungrateful nuts. Great way to lose good will.

Looks like she responded at the pink place, and implies Shoshanna, as a publicist, may be bending the truth to put Adam in a better light. Hey....all is now well for me re no drag.... As if I have not made a boo boo or two in my time....but curiosity got the best of me and I went over to check out the response...... The funniest comment under the post was this one. I saw this in response to a post re Adam playing Henry and Henrietta.... " There was no way he could have tucked the 'glambuldge' anyways." Justgill ...really appreciated that side of the Adam/Queen collaboration. Wonderful they asked Adam for the EMA's....the follow-ups in Europe were the spin-offs from that. Anytime they want to get together as a team....wonderful news! Yeah!

Lots of posts from people who are expressing their opinions and their disappointment. That's fair; if you can't share that here, where can you share it, right?
But to balance out the overall mood, I'm going to express MY feeling of joy! Woo hoo! Queen+Adam are playing their first north american show ever! Omigosh, Queen's invited fun to do a song, thats going to be great too, i love them. Yay, oh wow, OMG Nate and Adam are gonna sing a song together as well!!!!!
Carry on, it's all good!

Adam's consistant humility is winning and honorable. He takes the high road and that is what matters. It is a wonderful opportunity and will be HUGE fun. So happy for everyone who is going!

Seeing it seems like Adam and mr FUN are going to be in close proximity vocally come tomorrow I thought people might be interested in a bit of comparative analysis that Cassie did when I asked her about him a while ago. You can read full post here: www.adamtopia.com/post/192899Hahaha, I totally forgot I had done that. So, I listened to him again, and wrote about it here again, and at least it seems I am fairly consistent in what I think. No competition for Adam, IMO.

I'm very excited about tomorrow's concert. I get a few goosebumps anticipating the moment Adam first walks out on stage, the moment the first sounds come from his mouth. Anticipating all the energy and extravaganza of the set. I know he'll be amazing. And some of the songs may be repeats, but the atmosphere, circumstances, crowd and opportunity to impress will be all new! It's like a shot of adrenaline just thinking about it.
And what will he wear?!?!
And, hey, sometimes a little comparison under a big spotlight is a good thing (no disrespect meant to any other singer). Off to read Cassie's analysis. I'm also still hopeful for another surprise or two---and maybe an all-star jam at the end. Now that would be fun!
Also wondering if maybe Queen will be inspired by the rock show they went to see with Adam in Vegas last night (maybe they were partly checking the situation out?) to accept a similar short-term residency (twelve shows over a three-week period).

There is no question in my mind that Roger and Brian have the utmost respect for Adam as an artist. They, of all people, know how incredible that voice is and how he can kill any song in their repertoire.
Having said that, Adam is NOT the new frontman for Queen. Brian and Roger --- and Adam--- have always been very clear about that. Adam performs on his own. Queen performs with other artists. No disrespect or diminishing on either side, IMO. If anything, I might suppose that inviting other singers to perform with Queen is a way of emphasizing the fact that Adam is an invited guest, not a new addition to the band.
Yes, I wish that Adam was the only singer with Queen for this show. I also wish that they had a two hour set. I don't plan to watch/listen to any other acts, to be honest. But, a festival is what it is. I am thrilled to see/hear Adam perform again with Queen, and in such a highly visible event. It's all good.

HI, I was going to stay silent but, well, here I am... First, to me this is an Adam centric site and to that end we will all have different reactions, feeling, emotions, hopes and perspectives about this event tomorrow. Most especially, hopes and dreams for what I/we wanted/hoped for Adams involvement in this concert. Looking at myself here. I had dreams about what I hoped he would sing, how many songs and etc. While my rational mind knows it would be a shorter set and knew there would be guest/s, my dreams side had a much more verbose Adam centric mind set. I am actually glad there has been leaks/info about tomorrow so I can sort out the reality vs my hopes ahead of time. This way I can work through any disappointment - if there is/was any - ahead of time. I see many squeeing, many in-between, and some disappointment or mild disappointment. I was initially disappointed as I work through my own fantasy Queenbert set for tomorrow, the reality of what we may/are getting. And as mentioned, I am glad I can work through this today, so by tomorrow I will be happy with whatever we get:-) For me personally, it is not so much that Fun will be involved with a song/s because I knew from the promo there would be guest/s but it is the set list. Queen has so many songs, and so we all want to hear different things. And again, since I am Adam centric I was concerned at not seeing WWTLF or TSMGO shining through the prospective list. I really hope for at least one of those, and that would be my biggest hope... and then all else can follow... While it is the name "Queen" that is the initial draw I suspect for the concert promoters, I also agree with justgills post about "the phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to see that PAIRING!"... and this "but I truly believe that Adam is there as much for his own worth, as Queen's charity." So what I am trying to say is as we all work through our various emotions to the news today, I hope we can lend support and understanding to each other as people work through their respective emotions at the news. I imagine by tomorrow we will have worked this through and be back to full on flail as the event ensues tomorrow night. Rock on:-)
