After the Hammersmith concerts ended, we never knew if we’d ever see Adam + Queen again. We hoped and prayed, but we didn’t know if it would happen. Then suddenly the i-heart festival is announced and Queenbert is actually gonna happen in Vegas, and the anticipation and flailing begins and we set aside that extremely precious 30 minutes on a Friday night so we can glue ourselves to our computers and install our drool buckets…

Well, you know the routine. We are desperate. We are filled with longing. Our anticipation is so high we have paramedics’ phone numbers stuck to our desks in case we faint or have cardiac arrest during that extraordinary 30 minutes. And then fun. is allotted 5 minutes and 46 seconds of that 30 minutes, so we’re now down to what… 24-25 minutes, and it’s like Noooooooooooooooooo pleeeeeeeze Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Don’t take away 5 minutes and 46 seconds from us!!!!

And, I, for one, who is normally a gracious, generous, reasonable person, is suddenly feeling miserly and selfish and gimmee gimmee gimmeee because we’ve only been given 30 minutes of Queenbert and I really really neeeeeeeed all of those 30 minutes so bad!!!

Here’s the thing: Nate was absolutely adorable and excited and all those things you say and more. I totally get that he was having the time of life playing with his heroes. I love him for his enthusiasm!

But, I would have loved it more if Nate had been given a song in the middle of a 2-hour Queenbert concert. I could have handled that graciously. But with the time restriction of just 30 minutes, I selfishly wanted all of those precious minutes for Adam because it MIGHT. NEVER. HAPPEN. AGAIN.

And it didn’t matter to me that it was Nate/fun. who was given that 5 minutes and 46 seconds… I would have felt exactly the same way if it had been Katy Perry or Bruno Mars or ~~that old geezer~~ Paul McCartney or Elton John taking away that 5 minutes and 46 seconds.

I just wanted my precious 30 minutes because I'm really selfish that way. EyeRollSmiliey

I am somewhat glad that there was another guest included in the set though. Not only did it provide a sense of contrast (here is the best singer Nate knows, and here is Nate himself, whoever has the ear should listen), but it also shifted the attention from Adam being a guest of Queen to Fun being the guests and Adam being the actual singer of Queen who takes a break to let the guests play a bit... The act was billed as "Queen+Adam Lambert", and there was a lot less discussion about why Adam was there as he appeared as the organic part of the collective - composed, relaxed and musically perfectly fitting - while Fun appeared as the fans that felt blessed to even be there with their heroes.

So everything is a matter of a point of view. I usually skip the STL part when watching the concert videos simply because it hurts my ears a bit, but I appreciate what it did to the total perception of the act for the viewers and for the media - it emphasized Adam's qualities and did not take away from him anything...

I also mentioned once that I did not like AOBTD or CLTCL in London and I wasn't looking forward to hearing them in Vegas. I am taking this back, Adam has improved by leaps and bounds and these two are now together with WWTLF my favorites from the new concert!

Now if he would just do Runnin' live with this low register, I could go die happy...

I'm in the same boat with you! Except that I've always loved the most in AOBTD, I'm glad you like it now! And a big yes to your thoughts about Runnin'!

For instance, some of the audio people have introduced me to FLAC format & cue sheets which let you go to individual songs on a full show single audio file. FLAC is a smaller (compressed) version of WAV and both are the highest quality audio format you can get.

Hi. I don't need the Mario intro. I like separate songs. I forget what some of the file formats are and their characteristics, but I think there are some that are not Mac compatible. I still burn CDs so I can listen in the car.

hmmmm... interesting point, and I see where you're coming from. But, if fun./Nate had to perform, I still wish Adam hadn't left the stage! If a "guest" had to be there, I would have preferred another duet thingie!

And I agree that Nate singing didn't take anything away from Adam. It just took 5 minutes away from ME!!! O_o
