Can you imagine the ratings for Glee if Adam wasn't on.. Probably would have been about the same. Even if Adam drew 100,000 extra viewers, that would not make up for the NBC/The Voice shifting viewers from X-Factor. And for a show that gets 4.5 million viewers, that is the margin of error in estimating actual views. It was something that many foresaw when they announced the extra The Voice show but still is unfortunate. ** For Adam, IMO the great reviews and news/online buzz matter more than ratings.

With the press this episode is getting it would have smart for Ryan Murphy to schedule Adam on 2 episodes in a row. Several articles said Adam was just what the series neded to pull out of the Cory tragedy! But now, if anyone new tunes in next week, because of the great reviews, there will be no Adam for 2 weeks!

You know, a lot of the articles I'm reading today, while having nothing but praise for Adam, have issues with Glee itself. ***** For example: From Rolling Stone: www.rollingstone.com/movies/videos/glee-recap-katy-perry-or-lady-gaga-20131108'Glee' Recap: Katy Perry or Lady Gaga?
Adam Lambert joins the cast as New Directions take on pop hitsIf there's one thing that can make us forget that Finn is dead, it's Adam Lambert joining the cast of Glee! We're sure that's what the producers would like us to say, and it's not far from the truth. Glambert is a pretty exciting addition to the show. But despite them wanting us to move on, it's hard to ignore that they're still basically pretending that everything is picture-perfect in Glee-dom. Aside from a passing comment and a background photo on a wall, there was barely any mention of Finn or the devastatingly sad episode in which they killed off the character. They basically leap-frogged right over that life-changing event to shinier, happier times – Sam crushing on the school nurse, Kurt forming a band, the glee club kids arguing over who's better: Katy Perry or Lady Gaga. We get it, it's sad. No one wants to dwell on such a depressing storyline. But for a show like Glee, which has deftly tackled heavy subjects in the past, it's irresponsible and unrealistic and just plain delusional – it's hard to get past.
<snip...and to the Adam part> Dressed in a fanciful tux and top hat covered in glitter, which Kurt calls "Project Runway . . . Season Six," Starchild attacks Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night" and makes it his own. The scene is basically a four-minute music video for Lambert where he struts, pouts, poses and literally swings from a chandelier. Lady who?***** Its almost a little whiplash-y: We love Adam! We're peeved at Ryan and the writers... But we love Adam! Glee is making us upset by glossing over Finn... But Adam was great! What the hell with the storylines.... etc. etc etc

[shrugs practically] Lots of people said they weren't going to watch now that Finn was gone. Oh jeez when I read "Finn" at first I thought you meant some Glamberts were holding a Saulbert protest. Staying up so late to watch Glee was a bad idea.

Yeah, the ratings mean nothing and were totally predictable. This was a major score for Adam and he blew the roof off the place. I knew he would do well, but I had no idea he would kill every aspect of his appearance. It just feels like he has enormous buzz and momentum right now. And I can't help thinking that label news might be right around the corner.

I watched both the XFactor and The Voice on and off before Glee... IMHO the x factor, beside Demi who is really a good judge is one of the worst Reality shows ever.. I'm also growing so weary of The Voice,. and all It's gimmicks.. The contestants must get confused, It's kind of like which door do you choose. To me there are too many Reality talent shows at the same time...I'm expecting who grooms their dog best next.
As far as Glee ,I thought the NYC Glee was the best, the school stuff so tired and no longer creative.. The dialogue pretty awful.. They must have said GAGA or Katy a hundred times..The singing still the best part.
I hope they just move the whole thing to NYC.. The cast has to graduate sometime.LOL

I agree .. they should strike while the iron is hot.. folks lose interest.. oh well it is what it is .. at least Ryan is now a Glambert.. can't hurt.

This does not reflect on Adam but rather on the unfortunate schedule situation -- The Voice crushed X-Factor so Glee has almost no lead-in, plus the hiatus = meh ratings! Plus Glee is not what it once was. Nice review from MJ at MJSBigBlog: [who is generally not an Adam fan and is not a fan of Adam fans]. To be fair, Q3, MJ has ALWAYS liked Adam. I have been posting over there for years, and she almost ALWAYS has positive things to say about what he does artistically. She does not always like Adam's fans. And I totally get it, because there is a faction of the fanbase that does Adam NO favors. And just to clarify, I am not talking about any fans here (this is generally a great place), but those fans are out there and can be vocal. I think MJ is fair to Adam --- but she is not one to give him unearned compliments. So that makes her review of his performance and acting more meaningful. But Adam fans are a different matter. My intent was to say she is not a fan Berting over every Adam thing. Like a fan like, well is there a mirror around? --- me! **** I opened and want to close the discussion of MJsBigBlog. OK to discuss her comment about Adam's performance but let's not discuss her policies or treatment of Adam fans. Thanks.
